i love carbon fiber but only to a certain point and it has to be reasonable........buying and carbon fiber front lip is a no no no....cuz im not going to spend $300 or more on a lip thats not gona be crack or shatter proof also because (you guys know who you are) dodging pot holes and dips can be tiring........... if your adding carbon fiber parts for a street car hopefully its for looks (its what most people do now) so unless you have a fetish for carbon fiber or guning the tracks for better time...there's no need to replace parts on your car as if the car just got back frum jenny craig and your trying to shave off some pounds so everyone thinks that your lighter...but im also one of those people who does real carbon fiber overlays.....and i know it adds more weight but im only doin small parts...its not like im throwin an extra 50lbs....and for those who think that frum afar it looks like the cars faded...i think there might be somthin wrong with your eyesight...or mabe you've seen to many cars with flat black paint.......cuz its really not that hard to tell carbon fiber when you see it....and it does not look faded or flat just because its glaring and reflecting sun light or other light

 

I'm not a big fan of CF I like a little bit CF if it's done tastefully. Most CF parts I had I painted them.

i don't like carbon fiber too much. i personally like the CF hood look though. i've seen some over done stuff. i saw a imprezza CF fender, hood, trunk, doors, spoiler, and bumpers looked bad

 

Yeah Im def not a fan of the fenders and trunks!

 

I'd been trying to figure out why so many people had practically new cars that already got in an accident and needed a new hood.

Reminds me of the multi-color pick-and-pull from a junkyard look.

Hahaha! Dude, those rusted hoods are just ghastly!CF is definitely much better than this trying-hard-to-have-a-patina look.

 

I only have a Seibon CF Spoon replica spoiler on my car. I wouldn't do any other carbon on it. It's NHBP also, and I love the way the CF looks against the black pearl. I would personally only put a CF hood on a white car.

I have'nt had the spoiler on long, but is there something I should be doing to the spoiler to maintain it? I wax my car monthly (when the weather allows it) but should I be doing anything to the spoiler?

 

A good coat of wax can't hurt... It depends on how good the clearcoat is they used on the spoiler. I had a replica CF hood on my 02' DC5 and waxed that thing all the time. Still looked flawless after 3 years of bugs, rain, and sunlight!!!!

 

CF is good stuff. nice to look at. i use it on my other cars as decorative pieces.

cf is ricy as hell.

wet cf is weak and rather heavy
if you are looking to save weight get fiberglass with paint
or
dry cf

 

I am not a big fan of CF, I would rather have a fiber-glass part and have it color matched to the car anyday.

 

brosef has a cf hood on his sol. its painted to match the car

 

Is a good idea, most people don't... but if you are going to paint it why not just go with fiberglass.
