Anyone in US got their Fits yet?

My dealer had ordered 3 when first possible to place an order, expected delivery was this week. As of Fri - no show - Any dealers elswhere got their initail order in yet or is Honda stockpiling them somewhere so they all get them at once?

flogler 04-14-2006 07:34 PM

My dealer said the twentieth and he says he has 20 coming this month alone -we will see about that:eek:

JDM-Bill 04-14-2006 08:18 PM

ya they said the 20th in NJ.....im not going to pick one up til aug tho

Andrew 04-14-2006 08:34 PM

Honda is holding them until he 20th Why? I'm lost. They are sitting in the Baltimore port and waiting. My dealer hopes to see one by Wed.

at least u guys got dates. the local guy didn't even know when, or even a guess. but i do know they should expect some at all, cuz they gave mpe a brochure.

Got my VIN on Monday, but no ETA for delivery yet

johnson@crocker.com 04-15-2006 09:19 AM

Just got a call from the dealer Wed the 19 th is ETA. Honda indeed is holding them all at some POE so all the dealers get them at the same time, as reported by Andrew above.

wandafreely 04-15-2006 11:51 AM

What in the world are they thinking?!?

Bill L 04-15-2006 12:51 PM

I think with all the favorable newspaper reviews, Honda wants each dealer to have a few on "opening day" to not disappoint the general public that's intrigued by the new car & wants to see one next weekend. If the Fits trickled in around the country, we FitFreaks would buy all the early arrivals (to be first in our town, state, or US) leaving none at dealers for awhile for the rest of the public to test drive & buy, and maybe it would also encourage markup-gouging.

Gordio 04-15-2006 01:09 PM

My local one doesn't know when it'll come. the SF honda says middle of may (eek). Still gotta ask around. Even tho i dn't plan on buying it asap, i wanna test drive it.

Unit 91 04-15-2006 09:10 PM

San Leandro (Bay Area) told me the 27th for the specific car I want. We'll see how that works out.

It might be hard to get a test drive right away.

Portland Oregon is expecting them on 4/20...though each one that is arriving seems to be prepaid for...mine included ;)

Hello all, I am new to this site. Very nice from what I can tell. I sell Hondas in Maryland and the official release date is April 20th for all of the US. Honda has done this in the past with most of thier cars. They do indeed want all dealers to have one on the same day. It creates excitement for the product and makes thigs equal. They should probably show up Wednesday night to Thursday morning.

My local dealer wouldn't even take a deposit -- the manager said they wanted to make it "fair" for everyone. I pointed out that it isn't fair for the people who will be at work when the cars arrive. In the last few years we've had a population explosion in our area of Florida and it is incredible how many people are out and about all day long while I'm on the job. I reserved my Fit by paying full MSRP and going to contract.

Boch Honda in Norwood Ma ( outside of boston) is advertising Fits Easter sunday at $300 off msrp from 12 - 2 on cash deals.

And by "fair", they probably mean "let the laws of supply and demand rule", which then means "goes to the highest offer over MSRP."
