FIT SPORT... How Easy Is It To UNSPORT It...?

Okay, so I saw the FIT on the road today... and the bumpers didn't look that bad... Here's my problem... I hate bodykit and spoiler on the FIT SPORT, but I would totally spring another grand for the fogs, allows and upgraded stereo... So my question is:

How hard would it be to remove the spoiler and bodykit?

I agree, but I don't know if I dislike them enough to try and remove them. If it's easy to do, and involves little risk of damaging the car, I would consider it. Maybe there's a market for Fit spoilers and bodykits on ebay.

I'd imagine it's just a matter of unbolting the aero parts and replacing them with their equivalent parts from the Base Fit. Bumpers are not particularly difficult to remove, mostly just bolts and clips. Same for side skirts. Spoiler is another thing though, 'cause there's holes for the mounting bolts that'll remain if you go spoiler-less. You'd have to have a body shop fill 'em in and spray it, unless you could find a spoiler better to your liking. Personally, you'll spend a lot more on getting all the parts then it's worth. Better to buy a base Fit and then add the stereo, wheels, fogs, etc.

If you could find someone who doesn't have a sport in the same color and was willing to swap rear covers - you could simply do that. That would get rid of the spoiler for you easily.

You are not alone. This has come up in a few other threads here. Many of us feel the aero stuff should have been made an accessory. That way nobody would be forced to have it, just because they wanted cruise, and everybody who did want it could still get it.

Maybe they will issue a limited edition sport without the body work. I would gladly pay the same price, but I am sure it won't happen.
