i believe you have to buy it as a dealer accessory.

switchbrdopr May 2, 2006 07:59 PM

No, floormats are not standard on the Fit. (I have a bone to pick with Honda on that one.) You can get decent floormats at any automotive store or even stores like Wal-Mart and K-Mart for a whole lot cheaper than the dealer. You can also go on-line and purchase Honda floormats cheaper. I got mine at Target for $29.99. I would like Honda floormats, but since they all wear out eventually, I went with the cheaper ones.

No, went to costco got some hvy dty all weather mats.

GoFit May 2, 2006 08:04 PM

It's an accessory.

See if you can get it for free, worth a try.

I was pissed about that also. The only reason I would consider the honda mats is that the driver, passenger, and right rear passenger mats are held in place with hooks. And I hate it when the driver mat ends up pushed forward under the pedals (happens when my wife drives).

It is discussed in another post, don't know which one though.

Get Honda's. The floor under the driver is smooth, snd unhooked matts will slide around. The Honda all-weather (rubber) one is best and comes with hooks that lock into the floor under the driver's seat. You can install them yourself to save the dealer install charges.

If you get Honda floormats, check out vendors in the marketplace.

I agree that you should try to get them for free. After you get everything just the way you want it, say you'll take the car if they throw in the floormats. They probably only cost the dealer $50, so if they think it will make or break the deal, you'll get them. It worked for my brother with both floormats and mudflaps.

I purchased the carpet floor mats from an online source and they arrived wth two of the clips needed for front seat installation broken!!

I am having bad luck with accessories for my Fit. First the iPod link stops working now my mats have no hooks.

Also I would recommend not using the hooks. The mats stay in place fairly well on their own and the hooks stick up a good half of an inch and will get caught on shoes and broken if stepped on.

I agree that getting the Honda brand floor mats because they are made to fit exactly and are shaped rather wierd.

Hey drknife sorry about your accessories...

Thanks GoFit, your support and the support of others keeps me going in this work a day world. (I am being serious, not sarcastic, both sarcasm and honesty are hard to convey on the internet)

If you're paying MSRP, which everyone pretty much is, ask the dealer to cut you a break and throw in the floormats. They will probably concede....

My plan is to get cheap all-weather mats from Costco/Canadian Tire/Walmart

Then if I find they slide around a lot, I'll get some grip mats/rug underpadding from Rona.

My rubber mats are somewhere on a Fed Ex truck heading towards me. I wish the online dealer had gone with UPS, but shipping was free so no complaining.

I wanted ones that hooked down. I always wind up with the mats pushed up under the pedals otherwise.

FondaFit May 3, 2006 07:19 PM

I just received a set of mats from Bernardi, ordered on line. They had the best price I could find: http://www.bernardiparts.com

I got the carpet mats, but some Fit owners prefer the all-weather, which are about $11 more. Yes, it sucks that Honda doesn't include them, but it's not unusual these days to offer them as an accessory. The dealer offered me a 10% discount, but even with shipping charges, Bernardi's price is much less.
