Shopping For New Shocks
I'm at 50,000, and I'm shopping for new shocks... mainly for the upgrade. Didn't want coilovers because of the price. The Fit will be an all street and no track car. It's a toss up between Skunk 2 springs or Tanabe DF/NF combined with a shock.
I've looked at Tokico and Showa (no Koni:mad:), but looks like with springs and shocks I might as well buy coilovers at that price. What's a good combination? |
there's always t1r's s-spec dampers. you can buy just the shocks or a spring/shock kit and the cost difference is only $60. too bad you missed the new year half off sale, they took 50% off the shipping cost too.

I couldn't believe I missed that sale!!! There was a point where I didn't go on FitFreak for awhile. I learned my lesson.

I will be getting the T1R when my stockers die (58,000 still fine) I have the Skunk2 springs and they ride nicely. They are firm, not bouncy at all and I have had no issues at all with bottoming out the stock shocks or struts.
anybody know if Bilstein will be building replacement shocks for the fit?
in case you're interested, someone is selling a set of used T1R dampers here https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/soca...s-goodies.html
if you want to go cheap, just get the oems used froms someone who got coilovers long time ago.
How long are these shocks lasting?
Just got T1R Dampers with S coil springs. I like the fact that you can adjust them.
the t1r shock combo is amazing.
i like to ride it at almost full stiff because the lower settings feel to bouncy for me. but it rides smooth like a hot knife through butter. |
