maintenance minder 15% and B1

So last night i saw the wrench light turn on, and it said my oil was at 15% BUT i just had an oil change last week. The B1 thing was on too and i know i need a rotation but i'm getting new tires/wheels put on monday/tuesday.

Is my oil fine? Is the 15% oil life there just to go with the B1?

I don't wanna go to the dealership just yet cause all my money sorta went to the tires... lol.

Just to be safe, I would go out and check the oil level and check the color of it on the dip stick. It's always a good habit to get into immediately after having your oil changed. You never know what they did or didn't do.

Sorry I cannot answer your question regarding the light just coming on in conjunction with the B1.

I was doing some thinking about your issue and was wondering something. Did you have you oil change done before the reminder came on? If so, it is possible that they changed your oil and forgot to resit the minder and now the B1 came on at the same time coincidentally.

Yes i had my oil change before it came on. I am thinking that maybe they did forget to reset the minder.

I checked the dipstick and everything looks fine. And i actually just went and reset the minder myself myself. However the B1 did go away as well. But i'll be getting new wheels and tires anyways..

Thanks for the help!

actually while changing my front passenger side wheel out today, i noticed grease all over the inside of the wheel. we looked inside and there was grease leaking all over the cv joint/boot area behind the brake disc :(

going to head to the dealer tomorrow to check it out. that's probably why the B1 was lit.

The maintenance minder doesn't pop up because the ecu found something wrong with the car... it's merely a reminder to do x or y service at scheduled intervals depending on your car's rpm loads. It does not dynamically monitor your car in any way. Whoever did your oil change did not reset it, and the B1 would have come on regardless of the issue of grease behind your wheel.

The code that pops up (A1, B1, etc) is just telling you what you need to have done next time the % goes down to 0. You can always check what is coming up by holding the post down ~10 seconds, after which the code for the 'upcoming' services will flash. If you hold it down another 5 seconds or so the maintenance minder will reset and go back to 100%

So last week when you had your oil changed did you check your Maintenence Minder? If it was reset, as it should of been, then it should of been at Oil Life 100%. If you didn't check it, my guess would be it was simply not reset.

You say you "saw" the light come on? Was it "on" last week when you had the oil changed? Again if NOT...my guess would be it simply was not reset when you had the oil changed.

Yeah it was not reset. And I "saw" it switch on as was like.. what the. But I did reset it myself so it's all good.

I went to the dealership today, they said something pinched the abs cable and cv boots. BUT since I happened to have that extended Honda Care Warranty, the guy was cool enough to let that cover the new cv parts and abs cable which totaled up to $255. Thank God :D
