150 and 200 hp CRZ's
Automotive News announced Honda is bringing 150 and 200 hp models of the CRZ to market; they aren't hybrids. presumeably si and SiR designations.
Start saving up and get in line quickly. |

Start saving up and get in line quickly. While the Fit is still less powerful... it's far, FAR more practical. And it feels plenty fast for moi. |
I agree with Goobers. Maybe I'll change my mind when I have a second mid life crisis.

When I test drove the CRZ, it felt like I"m driving the Fit with all the gizmos on the dash. In my opinion, the handling is almost the same as the Fit and with the Fit I get more cargo space and it cost less than the CRZ lol.

In your opinion, what's the difference between the two cars in the handling when starting from stationery to cruising speed in a straight line.. did you feel more power in CRZ with its hybrid assist? |
nahh, engine swap

Is this you speaking for markwalter? No one is talking to you. Like usual. No where did he mention Bisimoto. And FWIW they reported 533whp on their CR-Z, and they needed a 64mm (>70lb/min) turbo to do it. It almost sounds like he is saying he "just got one pushing like 550hp" so I am merely looking for clarification. |

But as far as this topic goes, seems a little less relevant, since the OP brought up CR-Zs with the HP as a future stock trim... not aftermarket (or in the case of Lyon, DIY). |
is this for the japanese market or the US?

200hp in this day and age is still very weak.
they need to do 250hp+ minimum, 0-60 in the sub-6sec to be considered sporty. |
I don't know if it would take 250 HP to do sub 6 second 0 to 60s.. I am in the low 6 second area with my car when I can get the tires not to spin up to 40 MPH other wise it is high 7s, low 8s... It is much slower when the ambient temperature is above 65F.

Based on the compressor you have, the results others have seen on the dyno with your KWSC High boost kit, and making some slight tweaks to my guesstimate based on the other VE mods I know you have done.. You are probably really damn close to 23-24lbs/min airflow or almost 250HP SAE at the crank, Dee. :vtec: If you weren't on an OE clutch disc I would be annoying you to put some real rubber on the front axle and let 'er rip! Any idea what your 30-50 and 70-90 times? I'd be more curious to know what nearly double the torque does when we are already moving.. I have ideas of course but our short gearing in the GD Sports should make for a mean commuter. |

that's pretty good. but our hatches do not have to be sporty as it is more for utility. on the CRZ, it's not a practical car so it needs to deliver more on the sporty side...otherwise they wont win much business from the car enthusiasts, only some of the honda fans.

I would be surprised if a 200hp CR-Z made it stateside unless the Si were a lot more car. The 150hp model, I could see that happening. Not sure what the projected vs. real sales are of these in the US, but I sure don't see many.
For the tens of thousands of us who owned and raced CRX's a 200 hp model will sell like hotcakes on new years. The Crx was always the affordsable Porsche. Taking down vettes and Camaros on a wet track is as legal high as it ever gets. If they had included hybrid capability, aka the Porsche one, you'd be standing in line awaiting your order as you would have back then. Honda marketing may have made a mistake but as you see they are correcting it ASAP. And next year the hipos will likely have a hybrid. |
