Replacing the Tires

hokay! I bought my Fit at the end of 2010, on the 24th of December. I go to school in Jacksonville, and this is basically my commute: Orlando to Jacksonville, Jacksonville to Orlando. The car was bought used, along with the tires that came with it (obviously). The tires are starting to get a little on the bare side now (did the penny check, the tip of Lincoln's head is just barely touching the tread), and I need to replace them. Went to Costco, they said to replace all 4 would be $556 and change. My tires are 205/45/16 All season performance I think. I want to know if I can get a little more high profile tires (I am an aggressive driver, but I don't drive my car that hard) for cheaper, maybe like 225/55/16 Summer Performance? Is that possible for the Fit?

If you've got 16's the stock size is 185/55/16, the upgraded, recommended tire size is 205/50/16. Since your in FLA I suggest the Conti DW tire, since you said you like to drive aggressively, this tire has alot of performance to it but if you wanna still have good perf and higher mileage out of the tires, I suggest the Continental DWS. My buddy has them on his Mazdaspeed 3, as do I and on his car they kick ass:vtec:

So, if you can give up a little bit of perf, the DWS is your tire and honestly, its not a bad trade off for the average driver. I like to push my Fit hard around town from time to time and have had NO problems with the DWS! High mileage AND perf, a winning combo! This is the hot tire out right now for those who demand everything out of a tire, the DWS delivers:vtec:

I sound like a commercial or pitchman, where's my check:D

Check my reviews of this tire here on FF, a couple people have went with this tire as well as the DW too.
