Welp, unsubscribing. I can't deal with any more dynamically awful cars being posted in a fun car thread.

I still haven't taken the Fit anywhere further than Atlanta. I need to change that. Time for a road trip.

My wife sold her cube for her fit too. It was a loaded 2010.... and for somebody to say those things arent "fun" is a pretty ignorant statment on thier part. She was pissed when she got rid of it because it drove and handled so much better than the fit. But she had ALOT of miles on it so we had to dump it before it was too late.
I enjoyed driving that thing alot, it was a pretty neat and ver spacious little "wagon".

It looks like with it's short wheelbase it would be pretty nimble. Like the looks much better then the KIA soul. Kind of reminds me of the 1st generation xb before they turn the styling over to the US and made it large and ugly.

Its a look that has to grow on you. Most people thought they were hideous, but I liked it because it was something different when you look around and see 20 souls and 40 XBs...... I just wish it was AWD like their JDM brothers.......

My brother-in-law likes the Soul and recommended it before I brought my Fit I like the looks initially but I think it is the back end. Scion did sell a lot of the 1st generation XB 60,000 in 2006 then I think they decided to have someone design the 2nd generation in the US. Who address hp of the XB by increasing the power and size and lower gas mileage and the sales drop so Scion is also dropping the XB.

Not to mention a hefty price increase that followed.....

When my buddy bought his xb..... whenever the first year was..... I want to say it was like 12k with alot of nice options. Now that "cheap" car isnt so cheap.... heck they're around 20k now. I laugh because as they grew popular like I said the price did too, and the used market was an expensive alternative..... He had it for 3 years and actually sold it for more than what he paid for it...... WOW haha.

But like you said, the market dropped out big time with them..... I cant run to the grocery store without seeing atleast 5 souls! Kia stole the market from scion when they produced a cheaper car designed for the younger croud at a fraction of the price. Now whose to say that kia will hold the market with they're "new-er" to the USDM than their competitors that have been around for much longer and with a proven track record of reliability (toyota/nissan/honda).

Im still kind of upset that Honda dropped the element. Just when people wanted odd looking boxy cars they quit! It was nice having a more all around vehicle with its AWD setup. But the american consumer would rather buy cheap than quality I guess........

yah, element sc was a pretty cool looking car. just really needed a supercharger to match the "sc" emblem. not "sport cube" or watever it stood for. hahaha. and mpg was terrible too for those that are into mpg ratings.

and xB's phasing out 2012, right? i think it got canned for 2013 as scion is bringing in a different theme to their scion lineup starting with their iQ or watever thing and the FRS.

I wish Honda would bring some their other smaller vehicles to the US since they seemed to be based on the FIT. But since they are losing money i guess it does not make sense.

I had the first year Honda Element actually preorder before they came out and my dealer got it in a week before it was to be officially launched. So I was driving it around before anyone else got them. Wish I got a manual transmission had it for about nine months and sold it on Ebay.

There were quite a few cars that I enjoyed owning when I was young.. It is a toss between a 1954 Austin Healey 100-4 and a red 1955 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible for cars that I did no performance modifications to... I have always had a thing for Cadillacs and VWs and have owned more of these two brands than anything else with old crapped out Volvos following closely in third place... Then cars I went crazy on with performance built engines and swaps include a 1965 Chevy SWB pickup with a 396CI big block, Powerglide trans, (followed by a 4 speed manual) 10.50 15 cheater slicks, a few air cooled VWs with all kinds of modifications that usually resulted in needing rebuilding in a couple of weeks.. Both the truck and Beetles would lift the front tires off of the ground when going into 2nd gear.. I spent a lot of Sundays at the outlaw Yello'Belly drag strip between Dallas and Grand Prairie where money and pink slips would frequently change hands... I also enjoyed running ugly looking old British and Japanese 2 stroke street bikes out there....Eleven days ago I purchased a 1998 Eldorado with 71,000 miles on the odometer... I had been looking at a BMW 740i but the difference in availability and price of parts scared me off... KrimsonCardnal had a lot to do with renewing my interest in old Cadillacs....

Texas Coyote,

If you dont mind me asking, what did you pay for your latest caddy?

Ive been looking at picking another up for a work car and I like the 2000ish devilles.

Ive been seeing them with failrly low miles for around 4-6k depending soley on the miles.

Now that I bought my first caddy, my neighbor swore thats all I would want to drive..... I think he was kinda right haha. Hes owned them his whole life until the last 5 years. After I picked up my 09 cts....2 days later he showed up at my door in an 09 XLR. Pretty neat car not quite a vette, but it gets you there pretty fast and in luxury .
After looking at late 90s early 00s I realized they can be had for ALOT cheaper than I thought. Id feel alot more safe driving a boat to work than a go cart haha.

CTS4MATION, I got it for $4,000.. The interior is like new, pristine chrome plated alloy wheels, new tires and battery... It needs a brake job, maybe a wheel bearing also, and the power window on the passenger side won't roll down... I got the guy to drop $1,000 off what he was asking for it and feel good about the purchase.. I forgot to mention that it also needs a rubber hose that is leaking on the fuel filler tube... Four vented, drilled and slotted rotors plus ceramic pads are $300.04 at AutoPartsWarehouse window motor is something like $36.00 and found a place called switchdoctor that has window switches made by the company that supply Cadillac and sell for 1/2 what a dealer charges for them.. If I wasn't an old man and had to carry passengers a lot would have gotten a 4 door Seville or Deville... The Eldorado is a much more unique car and has great styling.. This one has the 275 HP N* engine and taller final drive gear which makes more sense to me than the lower geared ETC model with 300HP... I was surprised when I looked at the title and found that it weighs 3748Lbs... I love the wonderful sound of the 32 valve DOHC engine at WOT doing 75 in 2nd gear. It's the perfect car for travelling on older 2 lane state and US Highways with hills and curves...

Wow thats not bad at all! Yea I love the looks of those cars, my wife on the other hand doesnt haha. Boy will she be surprised when I bring another to the fleet .
One thing I have to check into is the N* engines.
Ive heard from alot of people that there were some "flop" years with those motors..... just gotta figure out which years.

How many miles are on that car?

Mine has 71,000 miles on it... I don't know if you have checked out this website but if not you should.... The N* needs to be serviced fastidiously if you want them to last... They need more attention than most cars because they are a lot more car than most cars.... Cadillac Owners and Enthusiasts Forum Homepage - Over 130,000 Members

Yep, Im on there.... same name as here actually. I didnt know that about the N* until my neighbor mentioned it and I read it on the forum. The neighbor said hes had 200k + on those cars and they last forever...... as long as you keep up on the maintenance with'm. Im taking my car to the dealer on monday actually. Went to change the oil for the first time yesterday and once I got the shroud off the bottom of the oil pan.... there was crud and oil everywhere! Im still under the bumper to bumper, so Ill let cadillac deal with it..... Im used to seeing that much gunk on my civic, but thats normal for those things. The CTS on the other hand can be quite a bit more expensive when it comes to fixing issues like this, and Im not one to chance it..... especially when I can get the work done for free!

Are you a member on the cadillac forum as well?
