Every once in a while when I'm at my dealer here in South Jersey I see the courtesy shuttle scoot by. Turns out it is a second generation electric Fit.

The guy who drives it says he gets about 80 miles per charge, less in the winter when heat is needed.

Actually there are two Fit EVs at Rossi Honda. When one runs out of juice and needs charging, the other takes over.

I hear that these are rare birds on the East Coast.

They're rare on either coast and non-existent inland. Only 1100 were made for 2013 & 2014.

Goobers, it looks like things just didn't add up for that plug-in model. Thanks for the info.

You're misinterpreting it.

It was a planned two year experiment by Honda.

You'll note that, it was never allowed to be sold, only leased. And ALL maintenance was required to be done by dealer or records set to dealers afterward.

And at the end of the lease (or extended lease as Honda let them have two more years), the cars were to be returned to dealers.
