What is your best Gas Mileage in the Fit

I went to see how good the 2016 Fit EX with CVT was in mpg, and averaged 51.1 mpg over 40 miles to work on city/hwy driving with the A/C on in early morning traffic. What has everyone gotten for a one trip mpg on their Fit on city/hwy driving.

I have at the moment 3000 plus miles at a 42.4 mpg average. I have been getting around 48-50 mpg in early morning drive to work 10 miles in city/30 on miles hwy, and around 40-45 on way home with the heavier stop and go 'rush hour' traffic. Now this is on a Japanese made 2016 Fit, the 2015 Fit made in Mexico gets considerably less, and my wife is upset and is going to get with the dealer to see what can be done.....(may need to a trade up to at 2016/2017...)

If I keep to the posted speeds and don't run the A/C I can average over 50 mpg, but hey, this is Florida. Nobody turns off their AC.....

I've got over 51 mpg for a trip as well, but I don't really give much credit to the onboard computer. It's usually off when calculating MPG use in a full tank so I wouldn't be surprised it'd be off calculating trip MPG.

For a full tank I've done 47 MPG.

It's a 2015 as well so not sure why you're wife is getting less.

Well, I showed her the onboard computer so she could see how she was doing, and immediately she started to get better mpg and improve her over average (getting to around 38). But I had her set the cruise control at the 'sweet spots' usually 40-45 in the city and 65-70 on hwy, and her 2015 get less mpg from estimates the onboard computer displays. Will see how she does in the next few days and report back...

2015 6mt

I have averaged just over 37 mpg in my 2015 6MT. The computer incorrectly thinks I get 2mpg better.
My father gets much better mileage with his CVT and I spoke to another owner who is also seeing low 40's even with much wider tires than my stock ones.
High speed kills my mpg and I see the worst average in the winter as more warm-up is required.
Most of my trips are 20 miles minimum but there is a good bit of stop and go.

Trip comp registering 56 mpg using cruise & air-con, even if it's 10% out that's still 50mpg

2011 1.4 EX manual

This is UK gallons though so it'll seem amazing to american people thinking it's US gallons

Update on the 2016 Fit EX, I have changed jobs and so its city driving and still getting a 42.3 mpg average with 10,000 plus miles.
Very nice on the pocketbook......

It sounds absurd, but one time I got to 48mpg in my GD. Granted I filled up at the top of mammoth mountain and was downhill all the way to LA basically, but still, 48 mpg. Average is around 35mpg for me though.

Yes I tested the 2015, with my wife driving the 2015 in front of me, and I with the 2016, driving same speeds, and stopping at same lights, etc... and to my amazement I got over 50 mpg while she was getting considerably less, just over 42 or so mpg. You have to factor in the driver, but still it was an eye opener, as I'm the one with the 'heavy foot'.

It looks like 41-42 mpg seems to be average although for long trips it can still get 50-51 mpg driving on the highway below the speed limit.

40.2 average mpg (gas used/miles driven with receipts) on 87 octane gas on 23000 miles in 2019 LX CVT (indicated by the computer is 42.7: Trip B is 23846.7 miles total - never reset).

Now this is funny, I had to lend my 2016 to my wife, as she has her 2015 in Texas, and all of a sudden the car went down to 36-37 average on MPG. I cant figure what she is doing to get it so low...

Your poll doesn't go low enough. See the other mileage threads.

There are a couple of things I see people do that certainly ruin their fuel economy, such as driving way too fast on the highway, accelerating hard uphill, racing up to red lights, etc. I think this video covers the biggest issues, though you need to ride along and observe

The best I've ever managed was about 45mpg or 5.2l/100km on mostly rural highways. Not hypermiling but basically doing everything reasonable to keep it down so I don't see this car doing much better than that. On a big trip just now with a much higher share of fast divided highways, about 41mpg.
