Do you need a new under tray/splash pan?

Happened to notice that Rock auto sells replacement under-trays for < 20 bucks.. The one I got is a little different than stock, its cut so you don't really have to take the thing off to change oil.. :D

Oh they call it an "engine cover"

Thanks for the tip Fizzy99. Did you also find/use a source providing installation screws and clips as illustrated in the maintenance section of the Owners Manual? RockAuto says I will have to look elsewhere for them, and I wondered if you had arrived at a solution. Thanks!

I've looked into these. My feedback generally is don't bother. I've removed some in the past to get access for oil changes, and never noticed a difference in noise or fuel economy. I'm sure there is a minor benefit, but that's the two cents here. Enjoy!

i think on the GK it add some level of rigidity for the front bumper (maybe) and air deflection, but honestly the bottom of the engine gets caked in salt after winter where i had to remove the lower shroud in order to do a full under carriage wash (to wash the bottom of the engine block etc).

just doing an engine bay wash from the top did not clean enough for me.. just adding moisture to allow caked on salt to corrode your car even further.. gotta take that cover off temporarily and really wash the engine bay from the bottom.
