Small road trip in middle Europe
 

So where to begin.
We are group of student of economics and this year graduated with bachelor degree. Even thought it it small achievement, we decided to go on a road trip around Czech republic.
Asking why am I writing it on FitFreak? Well we went in two Jazz or Fit if you want. The fist one is blue 2011 base model with 1,2 4 cylinder manual transmition, the second one is 2017 1,3 4 cylinder CVT.

At the beginning we were ready to go in 3 cars, 6 people. However plans were changed and we went in Jazzs, 6 people.
The trip was planned for 5 days, sleeping mostly in tents, once in the dormitory.

But dont skip some interesting parts.
As you might imagined there is a lot of stuff for 3 for almost a week for camping. So we need to plan even the space in car. However we used our skills from tetris, which we played during our lessons and managed it :D

Im glad the group was all in it and we had fun all the time. We even had stickers on cars. (ERT - epic road trip)

We have visited some nice places along the Czech republic, like castles, nature parks, cities, dams, small villages.

As i said, we were camping, each day in different camp. Every single morning we had to use our tetris skills to put everything in car again.

So we all survived, the cars survived, so everything went well.
We all enjoyed it, the cars managed it incredibly well.
We drove 900 km (560 miles) with average fuel consumption 5,4 l/100 (52 MPG). No technical issue. Sometimes luck of power, but it can be changed by pressing the A/C button of :D
Next year we are going again !

Thanks for the wonderful pictures and story, Lopik! And congratulations to all of you for graduating. The 2017 Fit is interesting, in that the rear has only parking sensors, where we in North America get a rear camera.


The best that my 1.5 gas can manage is 6,4 city/highway, with a best highway of 4,9/100. We don't get the 1,3 hybrid motor here.

The 2017 is better equipped. It has sensors all around but I'm not sure about the rear camera.
We don't have this bigger engine. The older one was available with 1.2 or with 1,4. Then the hybrid 1,3 come.
The new one has Only option 1.3. But it is not hybrid. It is regular petrol engine. You can have 6 speed manual or the cvt transmission.

The consumption is pretty nice I would say for fully loaded car.

That's awesome, lopic! You got great mileage for such a heavily loaded car.

Thanks, it was fun. The mileage was quite ok. When im driving alone i usually have 4,5 l/100km (52,3 MPG) with AC on.
Hopefully there will be another road trip. Im glad you like it.
Sticker are still on cars, I like it every time I look at the car.

I have to mention one bad feature of Jazz, column A ( is it in english ?) it might block pretty big cars in your view, I have had few problems with it, even thought i know about it.

Cool Trip.
I'm afraid in the USA the majority of people wouldn't embark on that trip without 2 full sized SUV's and/or maybe a tour bus.
It seems in Europe the sub-compact get's more respect.

Well SUV´s are poular here (one CR-V at home), sub-compacts are more like second or third car to family.
But you know, Jazz( Fit) is quite big car by it inner space.
And why not to take Jazz, put as much as posibble in it and go with friends to trip?

If I understand correctly, it's what I think we call the A pillar. I have similar problems with my 2012 Fit Sport, I often don't see pedestrians through the A pillar until I start to turn. I turn very slowly now because of that.

Even when the road is wide and there is a crosswalk, pedestrians can be hidden.
But I guess most jazz/fit owner know about it and just pay attention.

Nice pics! The Jazz/Fit (min Ge6 1.4 manual) is perfect for road trips! I've driven around the Norwegian fjords 3 times with 4 people and luggage

The canyon is called Grand America. It to used to be a mine. It's near capital city Prague.
About the consumption, when I'm driving alone on the countryside I can get to 4.4 l/100 (53.46 mpg). City around 6 l/100 (39.2 mpg). In winter is worst. But quite OK.
Recently I got 6 l/100 km (39.2mpg) with Honda CR-V when going to Austria. It's 2.2 l v4 diesel.

Yep, you know the same as USA - big hole and nothing in it :D

Just joking, you guys have amazing nature and some cities (San Francisco or San Diego are my favourite)

There are also other mines called like states near this one - Mexico, Canada
