Has anyone here bought a Fit that was made in Mexico that has no issues?

2018's are made in Mexico and I hear there's been quality control issues there. Has me worried since I want to buy one soon.

Lmao I should've posted this in the 3rd gen sub. Someone there reported no issues with their Mexico Fit.

If it were me, I'd be looking for a used low miles 2013 or so. Really. That's the last model year they were made in Japan. If you have doubts, the sticker on the inside of the driver door will clearly tell you where it was made.

That's not true, 2017 was Japan.

Well I live in Mexico so drive a real Mexican edition and have had no issues. Bought it in Jan., now have about 13k km. Longest trip was to the U.S., 1600 miles in 3 days, best tank 45 mpg. Love this car.

Mine was made in China (2014 Canadian, same as 2013 US).

3 years later, 0 problem!

Don't worry about, just go get one. It's a HONDA for Pete's sake.

So was 2016, unless you want a manual.

GodFather 08-06-2017 06:22 PM

Yep, my 2017 was made in Japan, Enigne made in Japan, and Transmission made in Japan. There's a lot made in Mexico where the engine was made in Japan and the transmission was made in the Philippines. Wow, a lotta mixed bag there.

Bought my 2015 Fit brand new in December 2014. It has 39k miles and so far I've replaced the battery, the AC has gone out, the rear hatch won't stay up on it's own. The biggest issue I'm having now? My Starter is going bad. It's 4 years old and I'm out of warranty. It will cost around $800 to replace because Honda refuses to acknowledge a known problem and recall. This is my first and last Honda. They don't make em like they used to.

i have 2018 fit sport MT. 31k miles now.

no major issues except some small noises here and there + door rim rubber is losing its glue in some places...

no major electrical / engine problem yet.... fingers crosses

evilchargerfan 07-02-2019 04:36 PM

2015

58k

nothing broke on its own. just tires, oil changes

(1 thing did break, a sensor behind steering wheel, but that was 100% my fault)

Frenzal 07-03-2019 05:21 AM

My 2014 China made Fit, after 5 years, 1 real problem! Had a water leak in the trunk. Think the seal moved, because I moved it around a bit, and the leak is gone now.

Only thing that was changed under warranty (last month, before warranty ended - had an extended warranty) was the passenger side front link.

2018 Fit Manual, only issue is the creaky transmission mount.

thenewenglander 07-10-2019 08:47 PM

I have a 2019 fit that I bought in October 2018. About 4k miles on it. No known issues so far.

Mercyhold 07-11-2019 01:56 AM

2018 fit sport. About 20k miles on it. Running smooth so far.

LulzKev 07-14-2019 02:34 PM

2019 sport with 1k miles engine trans from Philippines or some shit, built in Mexico. Biggest POS I've ever owned. Quality control is garbage.

Fuelish 07-14-2019 05:16 PM

I have a '15 I bought CPO in June of '16, have had no issues to speak of, other than the cold start "grind" in the winter, which might've happened 10 times since purchase. That's not to say the previous owner didn't have problems and got them corrected, but...my Mexico build is fine by me.
