I work in the IT department and one of the guys brought in the new EeePC from Asus. Now we're looking at a group purchase. So far, no one's willing to go down in price (we're looking at the 8GB one but some are open to the 4GB one) but are willing to deal on shipping & adding SD/SDHC (8GB or 16GB) to the expansion slot.

That's too bad. How does she like it? So far, they can't move on price but willing to give us a deal on shipping & SD cards. I've got them giving me pricing on 8GB and 16GB of SDHC. Not bad so far.

She finds it useful, but it's a pain when she wants to install compilers and other programs since you need a whole whack of script to make it run properly. Luckily she got the replacement thing from Memory Express, the first one she got died in a week...they replaced it with a new one right away.

I'm getting it from NXSource out of Richmond BC. A whole bunch of us is willing to wait for 8GB... looking at an ETA of 5 weeks or longer. For the 4GB, we can get it right away I think.

Make sure you get some sorta replacement warranty!!!

Sounds pretty cool, I heard Asus is teaming up with Microsoft and going to be equipiung these units with Windows pretty soon.

I am tempted, but I have some other commitments right now so I can't join.

i hear asus is making some good stuff these days........oh and since we are tech-talking, i was looking for a new hardrive for my playstation 3 and i wanted a solid state one. only to find out that a 160gb solid state HD was ten grand!!!! mostly used for military purposes. dang. ill just wait a few years until they are dirt cheap.

I think I might actually buy a ps3 only to play this game.

I hear Forza 2 is pretty good but that the graphics are not nearly as crisp.

I hope gt5 gives you the option to tune on a dyno and swap engines but my guess is no :(

Speaking of which, I have Colin McRae Dirt for PC that WON'T run on my computer because my vid card sucks :( I got it for Xmas, the package is only in French :rolleyes: But you can install the game in English. First 20$ takes it

I have the demo of DiRT, its a good game, but man, you pay for it when you damage your car LOL! Realistic for sure.

Forza is similar I think, you hit the wall with the damage option turned on and your car is screwed :p

I can't get the demo to work on my computer either.... you know... I bet the real deal full version game would sure be cooler than demo... *hint hint* ;)
