Muffler place

Hey guys, hoping you are checking Fitfreak today:D

I am wondering if any of you know of an exhaust shop that is open today and could weld a bung in an oem header for me?

Nick I remember you had a look into this but not sure if you ended up going on a weekend.

Crowfoot Muffler isn't open on the weekend, they are the cheapest place I found that wasn't going to screw me around. I think it was 12$ to put it in.

Here was my rant about it;

I think my favorite was either Midas or Speedy

Midas: Hello
Me: Can you guys install a weld in bung on a header for me this afternoon?
Midas: Well a weld in bung eh, that could take a couple of hours to install
Me: But it is a header that is a loose part I will bring in, it has never been installed and is totally clean.
Midas: But you know, cutting the whole and depending on where it gets installed it could be tricky... at least an hour or two worth of labour.
Me: um ok... never mind

Speedy: Hello how can I help you
Me: Hi, can you guys install a weld in bung for me on a new uninstalled header?
Speedy: Sorry we don't install supplied parts
Me: Well they are both loose parts, but you guys could supply the bung...
Speedy: *Click*

I paid $38 and minute muffler on mcleod installed one.

Now I need a stupid M18X15 tap because the idiot welding wasn't careful and a little bit of splash went on the threads and the o2 wont go in more than halfway...

They didn't have the plug in when they welded???

Mr_ET 05-03-2009 12:03 AM

nope great stuff eh? :P

Sugarphreak 05-03-2009 12:04 AM

It can apparently warp the bung when they weld and screw it up, the Crowfoot shop gave me sh!t about it when I didn't supply the plug right away.

Mr_ET 05-03-2009 09:49 AM

great stuff :P

I think mine is ok because it threads the o2 half way but once it gets to that point it wont go further.

I almost destroyed the threads on one of my 2 o2 sensors thrying to hammer it past that point :(

Hopefully I get a tap today for that and can fix it.

That sucks man,

I would lend you a tap & dye set... if I had one :wavey:
