Hi Mz Fit,

Usually, you should go by the manual. That's what we do.

Honda recommends 87 octane for all Fits.

That's what I use, that's what's made for your Fit.

HONDAMATIC 04-21-2008 03:19 AM

Mz_Fit 04-21-2008 03:12 PM

the 2007 and 2008 are made in japan right? and if it is made in japan then what octane do they use there. and i am sure they tested our cars at their lowest octane.

Just because you have no clue doesn't mean you can't read the owner's manual to learn. It's an excellent book to get maximum use out of a great car.:)

You should use regular gas. There will be no benefit to using a higher octane gas in the Fit as it comes from the factory other than lightening your wallet. However, if you want to use 97, that's fine... it won't harm your car.

BTW... where are you getting 97 octane? Is that a race gas???

yeah i don't know of any chevrons that sell 97 octane. the highest i see is 92 which is what i use for my tsx and ep3.

Might be a typo. 87 or 92 is my best guess.

Mz_Fit 04-25-2008 03:11 PM
