What was your Dealer Markup?
In Texas Dallas/FT Worth area, you're lucky to even see one. I finally laid eyes on a Sport Model at Huggins Honda in Tarrant County. The price was jacked over $4000. $500 fog lights, $1500 for Honda wheels/tires, $700 paint protection, etc. The xtra crap on the Dealer added sticker was about a foot long. The final asking price was like $18,450.
Hey tightfit...
Not sure if you ever ordered or received your fit, but I too shopped the majority of Honda Dealers in Dallas and they all tried to pull the same markup crap. Most of them requiring you to pay an extra $500 for pinstriping and scotchguarding the interior.
So, today I finally placed my order at Gunn Honda in San Antonio. No mark ups (so far...knock on wood) and only a $500 destination fee and a $250 deposit. They told me my wait is going to be around 3 months. But like they always say "good things come to those who wait."
I'd rather drive to San Antonio than deal with the crap from the local dealerships.
good luck

I paid at MSRP plus free windows tint and pinestripe. The way I shopped for my Fit is to go to Honda's website and request price quotes from all of the dealers around me. I picked the best quote from the list and have my base Fit 3 days after put down a deposit.
I got mine from Honda of Fife, paid 18650 (car, tax, license etc.. ) The sales person (CindyLu) was great. her manager great, the finance manager sucked. Don't buy ANY extras from her. (stil pissed 2 months later laugh) But over all they were great. And BTW was down there yesterday and got a oil change, they had 1 FIT on the lot, red, sport, 16050 was the sticker price, I think. I was looking at something else on it, being mine never had the invoice/sticker laugh..
When I sat down to talk biz with the dealer for ordering a sport M/T I was initially given a number of over $20,000. There was a $1500 dealer markup "because these cars are so popular. ALL dealers are doing it" haha; a $1600 "environmental package" that was rustproofing, scotchguarding and some acid rain protector; some other weird $900 package where the only specific thing I remember being in it is wheel locks, I forget the rest. Someother nonsense in there too.
I wish I had a picture of my face at that moment. I just remember slowly shaking my head no. The guy said "to which part?" I said "all of it".
Luckily I had two email quotes for MSRP from other dealers (although not with me, I didn't expect to be buying that day). I seriously recommend doing that. I would not have bought the car for $1 more, and I would not accept any extras. I told the dealer about my eQuotes, and I got what I wanted, but it took awhile. If not I would have simply went to one of those other two dealers.
After that whoo-haaa I kind of wish I would have just gone to one of the eQuote dealers with printout in hand. I hate all that song and dance crap.
Sounds weird that I regret the negotiation even though I got MSRP with no extras!!!! Heee hee. I just think the dealers that are brave enough, and have that good service of email quotes, to be rewarded for it. That's why I think I should have purchased there instead.

I paid MSRP, not a penny more, and didn't buy any accessories (nor did I have to). I was told by our sales lady that if you shop at Honda dealers that have won the "Presidential Award" (it's listed on the Honda site if you search for a dealer) they will generally charge MSRP.
We were very happy with their service, and all the information they supplied us with along he way... as well as being patient with all our phone calls asking questions and making requests

i went to go order my fit today at Mistlin Honda in Modesto CA, and their mark up is $998. i just told them that was too much and got up said thanks and left. Can anybody show me where i can get a Honda Fit for $500 or less mark up in central CA???
ok I looked it up and then forgot by the time I got back here but it was like 15598 or 15998 something like that.. they ate the lugs cause they forgot it was on there.. but the total was over 600 less than what hinshaw was selling it for. or trying to sell it for.
Hinshaw's in auburn sucks for sales. I was seriously annoyed with they before I left.

I paid MSRP here in San Diego at Mission Valley Honda(Cush). Unfortunetely, they tacked on a "Protection Package", like on ALL their cars, and that was $995!! Other than that, they were VERY professional and very nice. It's very hard to find a Fit these days!
HA HA HA!!! Fife Honda in Washington state is a "presidential award" winner. . . Their markup on a 5AT Sport. . . . $4,000!!!!
I asked why a 25% markup on a $16,000 car was reasonable, he said because people will pay it.. . . I didnt buy it.
Under the same logic, a S2000 at $34K would cost $42,500!!! Wowzers!
