What was your Dealer Markup?

My Spartanburg, SC dealer is marking up their Fits $300. I want a blue, MT Sport and am willing to pay only MSRP. I figure I'll drive around to a couple of dealers within 100 miles and see if the story is the same. Can't figure anything out until I get in their hot seat. Wish me LoL.

$1600 in san francisco. fit's are harder to get in CA so most have markups.

Gordio you paid too much to be first in line. I paid $0 mark-up in the E.Bay. So.Bay & Marin also had MSRP deals. Could've also had it for +$500 but walked out.

This mark-ups really sucks! They'll try anything to get most out of a sale and the sad thing about it is Honda is permitting this practice. I never had to put up with anything like this buying my MINI cooper S.

what trim did you get? The reason i "had to" get it first in line was cuz they said most fits coming were automatics.

i also don't mind b/c i'm not poor (not rich either)

MT. I went for the base, but I had a sport on reserve as well. Blue or silver, I went with the silver.

But as long as you are happy then it doesn't really matter. People will pay what they think it's worth so no worries.

GoFit,
Honda has nothing to say about it. They don't like it. But, federal and state laws passed by politicians (probably supported in part by Dealer PACS) prevent manufacturers from interfering whatsoever including discussion of prices. Yep! Our own politicains are screwing us but I'll bet they get a "deal".

Most dealers around here (Seattle-ish) are asking at least $1000 over MSRP, some as much as $2000. I may be lucky to pay $500 over. None available to even look at or sit in...

For those of you not reading carefully, or critically enough, the question was: What is the dealer markup? Not how much or little of that did you pay.

So, if you walked into Gouge'm Honda in East Yucbutt, and they were marking them up $5,000.00, but you walked out with your Fit for $700.00 below invoice, the answer for this thread would be...$5,000.00.
