You've got more patience than I do and I'm a patient person. Glad you finally got it. Hope it was worth the wait for you.

My dealer never even ordered one. They were just calling weekly to different dealers hoping to find a match of what I wanted.
I couldnt wait that long so I talked to the manager about what 5speeds were coming in. I ended up picking a red Sport. My 2nd color choice.

Funny thing is I found a VBP Sport in 5speed at Coggin Honda. They claim its been on their lot for over a month. Weird huhh? Priced at almost $18000

Cool! I also have a TW manual sport.

In my case I wait only 4 days until the dealer find a manual sport.

Strange for this thread is that this weekend I went to the dealer and, There were like 20 Fit's 3 of them manuals (minus one that was been buyed Base VBP) but all of them had no deposit or nothing. They were just waiting for a owner.

Its not the color I want though. I wanted a VBP Sport in 5speed. I had the manager look through incoming inventor and told me about a silver and a red one coming in.

Im not really a silver fan; plus I didnt have my down payment goal. So I asked for the red one.
The build date was 10/15/06, my sales person called yesterday and it was finished. Fast build!

Question

Mx6GT89, did they give you a ETA? Mine started to be built on the 5th of Oct, and the dealer gave me the vin# couple days ago, but we don't know when to expect it.
Also, people have been saying not to get the extended warranty and such, did your dealer give you some info on that??
I ordered mine in July, and been waiting to get it since, I am really excited now that it (Black, MT sport) has been built . This is my first time buying a new car, been in grad school forever i guess , if anyone has any advice I am all ears thanks!!

They gave me a heads up saying the car was built about 3-4days after the actual build date. I found that a little weird...
My sales person said anytime mid November. I havent got a VIN, I also havent asked for one.

I havent asked or been told about the extended warranty. I asked about doing paper work before the car arrives. But Im going to wait. Never know untill its in front of you.

I see, there is a chance that our cars are made in the same batch. My dealer is quite nice, but most of the time does not know exactly what is going on. When I ordered in the summer, I was told it would be early to mid October..go figure. He tells me that I am lucky that Honda accepted our order!? You should have a vin#, apperantly the cars are assigned one as soon as they are built. Also he told me that the car will arrive to the west coast than get on the rail, and that is when he can get some information on ETA..
Please keep me posted as you get more info, I will do the same. I just do not want to wait anymore

Sounds familiar to me, mine was supposed to be built on 10/4, BOM sport MT. Haven't heard from the dealer yet on confirmation that it was built or VIN#. Ours may be on the same train to the east coast. Hope they all get along nicely on their cross country trip.

The thing with my dealer is that they do not order the cars to what you want. They just see the cars before theyre built and ask if you want it. Or they do dealer trades. Ordering takes too long; as you and a good amount can see.

When I went in they gave me a choice of 2 5speeds coming in and I picked one. Me being the first on the waiting list for 5speed I had my pick first. Really wish it was VBP, Ill make MR work.

So far Ive gone through 2 dealers. My first deposit was put down on 8/13/06. My 2nd was 9/17/06 (I think) and here I am getting a Fit in November. As promised by my FIRST dealer which was rescheduled to mid January.
Over all, ME HAPPY
Cant wait to install my mods!!

HUGE LOOPHOLE in Honda Care warranty???

I wrote about my sad, brief experience with Honda Care on a different thread but to assist some folks here who will soon find themselves at the dealership needing to deal with the finance guy who is a highly trained professional with a mission to entice/trick you into buying a lot of extra stuff you don't need or want, here is some more info.

Perhaps the moderators might see fit to reorganize some of this Honda Care info into one consolidated thread, as the drama will be a part of every Fit purchaser's buying experience.

You can review a sample Honda Care contract here:
http://www.myhondawarranty.com/hondaSampleContract.pdf

Read it carefully.

Before you decide to buy, consider if purchasing such a warranty even makes sense to you.

There are many reasons you might choose not to purchase an extended warranty. You may only intend to keep the car for 3 years, so the standard warranty will cover the vehicle for the time you own it. You may decide that your driving style is gentle and that your maintenance schedule is so disciplined that a vehicle with the dependability index of the Fit is most likely NOT going to break down while you own it. You may decide to wait until later to purchase Honda Care. You can do this up to a point, but the price will go up depending on the odometer reading at the time you purchase the contract. You may find, after 3 years, that you have had absolutely no mechanical issues whatsoever, and you may decide to live without a warranty.

If you decide you still want to buy Honda Care, research prices for these contracts online. Here are the dealers with the best prices when I searched a few months ago: Saccucci Honda, Bernardi Honda, Curry Honda, College Hills Honda.

When you find the Honda Care price you like, contact that dealer and make sure you can purchase the coverage from them for a car in your location, as some states do not allow out-of-state Honda Care contracts.

Then, arm yourself with a print-out showing the online price from the dealer you have contacted so you can bargain your local dealer down in price. Really, they ought to meet or beat the online offer, and wouldn't it be healthy to let the global market wear down some of these ridiculously high warranty prices.

BEFORE YOU SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE, read one more time this Honda Care clause that seems to have sweeping implications. It is in section IV. WHAT IS NOT COVERED:

M. Negligence, error or omission on the part of any servicing DEALER, repair facility or CCMC, or any MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN or consequential damage to YOUR VEHICLE caused by negligence, error or omission.

The all-caps words are in the definitions in front of the contract. DEALER means an authorized HONDA dealership.

So am I the only one to whom this clause sounds like a total loophole if Honda simply wants to deny coverage?

Even if you dutifully take your vehicle to your HONDA DEALER for routine maintenance and even if you can prove that they messed up your car bigtime thru "negligence error or omission" which leads to MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN, this clause has indemnified them against any damages you might be able to claim!

So what good is this warranty?

Hey doogiefish, I hope the cars are in transit is all I can say, I am sure that they are getting along well
the dealer never mentioned the color I got, I just assumed that I got the black one, I should check.
Mx6GT89, you are really lucky getting yours in Nov. that is great!
Ifitfiz, I think it was your prev write up I read, now I am scared with the whole warranty thing, I need to look into it more. Thank you for all the information.
hopefully the dealer will start getting some info my way soon.
cheers
