Picked my Base Automatic - SSilver Metallic from Honda of San Leandro last night. Rey Pe Benito (510)347-5122 took my $500 credit card deposit a little less than a month. He was gracious enough to answer my frequent emails re: availability of the Base Fit. I was already pre-approved with my credit union. Rey gave me a call last night at about 5:30pm that a Base Auto SSM Fit was available. It was first-come first-serve on whoever did have reservations get there first. Previous buyer has problem with their credit or something. Paperwork took about 1 hr. Paid MSRP , + $180 for the keyless entry with installation included, $45 doc fee. Spoke to Finance people, opted to enroll in the 5yrs/100K extended for $995. (Will welcome comments if I got a good price on this). Will come back later to have them install the keyless module. There was no pressure from them. @7:45 pm - Drove the Fit off the lot after they prep the Fit, actually the wife has to drive it as I still have to report for work. Btw - Fit already has 20 miles on it. Somebody did test drive(s) on it already.

cool - congrats - - I've only had my deposit down for two weeks, no idea how long I'll be waiting - - Fits are hard to come by here in Florida it seems.
