So, how'd you get into hatchbacks?
So, I was thinking to myself, what makes a person get "into" hatchbacks? Is it sheer practicality or is there something more? Hatchback owners have a bad rap of being stingy and such so why do people get excited about them?
Since I brought it up, I'll start. I was looking for something more efficient than my Ram and figured out that a car with 30mpg would pay for itself in less than a year with how much I was spending on gas. I found a 1984 VW GTI for sale in my area and decided to check it out--not even knowing what a GTI was. The guy showed me how he could get his bike inside his hatchback and everything. And then I drove it... and everything changed. I never got the GTI but I was hooked. I did get a civic hatch and now the Fit... Just wondering where everyone else was coming from... |
I know it is a little abstract and hard to describe, but for me, it is the look of hatchbacks. Simply like the way they look.

My first hatch....a 98 VW GTi VR6. When I get my Fit, it'll be my 4th hatch.

How'd You Get Into Hatchbacks
For me having owned only small trucks or wagons all my life (due to owning and showing horses) I just love being able to haul anything that will fit into the space. It is so much easier to go shopping and put it all in the back and then open the hatch to unload. The Fit got me from the second I found it on the web. I was looking for a fun ride and found exactly what I was looking for in the little hatchback Fit! Cat :X |
For some reason, I've always loved hatchbacks. Dont know why.
