How often do you wash your car?

Here in Houston it rains so much l don't see the point in washing a vehicle often. Seems like every time l wash it, it rains within the next day or two and it's all dirty. l just wash about twice a year to do what a co worker of mine calls "knock a few layers off". But this Fit looks so good in blue l may wash it about every 6 weeks or so.

The only time I washed my last car was just before trading it in to buy my Fit.

the less I wash it, the better. less chances to introduce swirls into my paint/clearcoat

real answer = once a month (or less)

Usually once a month. It doesn't rain much here in sunny southern California.

Same here with the rain. I probably wash it 2-3x a year. If it snows I try to at least rinse off the salt junk as soon as its off the roads.

Also in the "Houston area" but I only wash the Fit once or twice a month, it stays in the garage and comes out for autocross, hauling things around or a brief drive so the tires don't get flat spots.

My daily driver (2016 CR-Z), gets washed at least once every week or two and is also garage kept. I find that using a waterless car wash like Meguiar's waterless wash and wax helps knock some of the dingyness off the car between washes. Its also nice to use to go over the car again with AFTER you wash and dry it.

As I've aged, I've adopted a Care Less maintenance approach.
That is I have come to care a LOT less if my vehicle isn't spotless. I can allow it to get a little dirty.
I still wash it, but probably on a monthly basis, and now, I use the "evil" drive through car wash.

Also I live where it rains a lot....so yes, keeping it totally clean seems almost pointless. And I have found that if you have a good foundation of wax? The rain can actually help keep the vehicle looking clean.

The way I look at it now?
My Black vehicle "magically" goes from black to....gray.....
When it looks a little too gray to me? Time for a drive through.

I keep whatever car I drive clean. The Fit has mostly been kept clean throughout it's life.

Wife's new black car only gets a bath about once a month. It's a mess, but she doesn't care as much as I do.
