1996 Honda Accord DX Wiring
I amlooking for a wiring
diagram for a 1996 Honda Accord DX. I have a 12 volt short to grond at fuse 9 that goes to the condenser fan. My Hane's manual does not show the wiring diagram for this circuit. Any help will be much appreciated. |

How are you measuring/assessing the short? If by blown fuses, fair enough but if using a meter then remember that a fan motor is very low resistance when not running and may be less than an Ohm. HTH PS - No, I don't have a wiring Diagram. -- Graham W http://www.gcw.org.uk/ PGM-FI page updated, Graphics Tutorial WIMBORNE http://www.wessex-astro-society.freeserve.co.uk/ Wessex Dorset UK Astro Society's Web pages, Info, Meeting Dates, Sites & Maps Change 'news' to 'sewn' in my Reply address to avoid my spam filter. |
Re: 1996 Honda Accord DX Wiring
The problem started with the battery going dead. Put on new battery
and the battery drained overnight. Found that something was drawing a lot of current with everything turned off using a test light. Checked between the pos and neg cables and was reading 0 ohms pulled the #9 15 amp fuse and the short went away. Left battery cables on with #9 fuse out overnight and the battery stayed charged overnight. Just need to know what this fuse feeds so I can trace down where the problem is. Thanks for your help. The #9 Fuse on my Rover is the Fog Lights fuse so you'll need a word with a same car owner to verify what exactly that fuse feeds. Using your lamp, carry out the first suggestion in my post. If it is the condenser fan motor then it should be getting warm if it is consuming that amount of current. Do that test after the engine has completely cooled down. -- Graham W http://www.gcw.org.uk/ PGM-FI page updated, Graphics Tutorial WIMBORNE http://www.wessex-astro-society.freeserve.co.uk/ Wessex Dorset UK Astro Society's Web pages, Info, Meeting Dates, Sites & Maps Change 'news' to 'sewn' in my Reply address to avoid my spam filter. |
