Indeed it would. My father just had to purchase a Toyota van (or a Chrysler, BLECH) with wheelchair conversion for my mother. VERY expensive, over $50K. High amount just to give someone mobility?

If Nissan were to bring just this version, I imagine it would be a good seller on price, size, and economy for those that need such vehicles.

The picture above is for a special "accessible" edition of the Cube and is not a standard issue one. I mean, the accessible edition is on the catalog, but that's not the way the standard Cubes are.

Right, there are several versions, including two accessable types, both rear and side entry.

The problem comes is in the US you are stuck with a large van for such a vehicle. A friend in Holland, they have much smaller vans and trucks for such needs.

An excellent point! In fact, over in Japan pratically all non-kei models of the Japanese makes are available in one version of the accessibility edition or the other. Toyota even sells a model called the Raum, which is not a wheelchair-accessible car but is designed to be more accessible to people with moderate physical challenges. And these cars are usually no larger than 1.8 L, and most are 1.5 L or less. They do the job wonderfully. The Japanese are doing fine without vans with V8.
