Honda Fit/Jazz - Is there a way to get Honda's attention?
I notice that they are selling this next year, which is a good thing
as they really need a smaller basic car. But the only model they sell is the luxury loaded model with the higher HP engine. How can we convince them to sell the basic 1.2L model that they sell in the U.K.(1.3 in Japan)? We need a basic 50mpg (average real-world mileage!) vehicle for $10K. They'd sell more of them than they could imagine to delivery companies and first time buyers and basically put KIA and Chevy's budget cars in the dustbin where they belong.(Aveo and Rio and so on) |

import one from japan or the uk - imho be a while yet before these tiny
displacement shoe boxes will sell in the USA - however $4 gas may do the trick. |
I think they need to bring both models to the US. both high end and low end.
You guys should bring this discussion over to FitFreak. https://www.fitfreak.net There are many pictures in the photo gallery here as well. |

Only in the UK [& Ireland], the rest of Europe drives on the right side of the road. |

I don't think there is a law that prevents one from putting a steering on the right side of the car. |

I don't think so, either; but it's a pretty massive upgrade for a hobbyist. ;) |

Hi Joseph!

In Germany the Jazz is on market for 2 or 3 years. But you'll have to pay more than 14,500 EUR for the one with 1.4 machine. The cheapest version with the small engine is 10,900 EUR. For 15,000 you'd better go for a 3-door civic with 1.4 engine... http://www.honda.de/content/car/15113_27904_data.php Kind regards Thorsten |
Re: Honda Fit/Jazz - Is there a way to get Honda's attention?
The Jazz is very popular in the UK, with gas about $7 it's no wonder. The
1.4 often gets 50mpg and it goes really well. The small $10-$12K 1.2L engine that gets 60mpg highway isn't seen as "sellable" for some reason, which is why I wondered if there was a way to let Honda know that people would definately buy the base models as well. (I mean a way or place that the decision makers actually pay attnetion to) |

The Wall St. Journal today said the Fit/Jazz would likely be introduced into the US next Spring.
