Honda Care for Pre Owned Odessey

I purchased certified Odyssey in October 2004 in Atlanta. At that time
I did not buy extended warranty as finance person did not mention that
I will not be able to purchase Honda Care later on. In September 2005 I
started checking with dealers to get Honda Care. With 68K miles on it,
most dealers were denying Honda Care Wrranty stating that it can only
be purchased at the time of buying vehicle. Though they were offering
warranties of other companies wrapped with 7yr/100K power train
warranty.

But there is one dealership which is offering Honda Care for my vehicle
for 3 yr/36K at price of $1900.

Is there something to be concerned about this deal? Could I get a
better price?

This is my first time buying Honda vehicle and warranties. So far very
much satisfied with my Odessey.

Please let me know your experiences of Honda Care and/or Odyessey.

If you bought it certified used from a Honda dealer, then by definition
it has a level of Hondacare on it.

It may have been advertised as "certified used Honda," but you chose to
decline the "certified" part which means you declined the Hondacare.
Did you do that?

Or did you intend to get more Hondacare than what the "certified used"
program uses?

I bought a Honda once for less than $1900...

Why do you think you need an extended warranty? Is the van giving you
problems? My '96 Odyssey is still in service with my daughter and the total
spent on repairs to date is well under under $500.

Try this link out. I took the prices from this web site to the dealership
when I purchased my new Ody and the finance guy give me the factory warranty
at the web site price.

Yes. That Honda Care is for a period of one year. And expired today.

I did not decline "certified" part which was full coverage for a period
of one year.

I intend to get Hondacare as "certified" warranty is expiring. Though
it will still have 7yr/100K powertrain warranty.

Re: Honda Care for Pre Owned Odessey

I checked through the site. The site price warranty since my Ody is 5
years/68K miles old.

Re: Honda Care for Pre Owned Odessey

There aren't any apparent problems. There was only one repair with in
last year under warranty. I think it was to replace Motor mounts.

Since I bouth used Ody with more than 65K miles, thought having
warranty would give peace of mind...
