I just noticed!:hyper: That dashboard is modeled after a Nokia cell phone. I forgot what model but I've seen it before.

That 67mpg is for diesel! if any car can get this kind of mileage on a non-hybrid gas engine everyone will want one. Did anybody actually read that article?

There is push button start, so arthritic seniors can use it.

Does it really matter?

It shows what the US needs, and we will never get the Turbo Diesel engines to ween off foreign oil... 67mpg... compared to 26mpg we get in the USA... I find it insulting, and at the same time, just dissappointed in the american companies ignoring the potential. There must be something they are winning in the end for producing non diesel engines.

$40B+ profits for USA oil companies? They seriously don't sell ANY little turbo engine vehicles here. They start at 2.0 litres and 250 HP (for Audi, the VW ones are de-tuned to 200 basically). We need 1.0L 120HP turbo setups that sip much less fuel in general. Okay, there is the $29K 1.6T Mini Cooper with 208HP.

And with California laws, I can't even build one myself and be legal...

People are going to bash this car regardless because it's a ford, but my family has a owned a few fords b/f and they all were great cars except the bronco which had transmission problems after off-roading so much. But that aside, they are definitely going after the fit with this one. I like the idea of a low boost turbo to raise mpg and give a little bit of power as well. Overall I don't think it looks that bad.

I hate American Ford, I will bash them forever....

I love European Ford.. they are powerful, cheap and damned to the point...

Sorry, but I've owned american fords, and all I can say is I like the benefits the other countries in the world get from their Ford divisions...

I want a turbo diesel car... pay half the price for diesel, go longe rdistances on the same gas tank displacement...

damn... look at our fit, it has a 10 gallon tank, a gallon of diesel is 4.59$ in the san francisco bay area, you get twice the mileage, so half that, and that's the price you get. And the fact you get twice the distance to that same gallon, you double the distance for your 10 gallon tank.

I want a damned turbo diesel....

Confirmed by Ford that they can't afford to bring the 65mpg diesel engine here:

The 65 mpg Ford the U.S. Can't Have

Imagine that!

And of course they lied in the interview, it has nothing to do with the cost of building a new engine (that's already designed and in production elsewhere). It would immediately kill some of Ford's other vehicle sales in the USA, that's what they can't afford.

Obviously it's going to take a new player to step in and mop up the floor and force a change, but who.

When Ford brings the ford of Europe products over like the ford Sierra and turn them into the MareKur (sp) XR4Ti somehow they turn them into crap! Not all Fords are bad! Why do products have to be "shitified" especially before they let Americans have them? Where's the Fit CVT?
