Small, but...
2009 Ford Fiesta First Drive on Inside Line
(Note 2009 for Europe, 2010 for USA.)
Ford is also introducing the EcoBoost gas engines (small turbos) in America, but I don't have the article link handy.
Where is the Honda Turbo Fit Sport? :D

I was reading about these in a Motor Trend today...
I think it's kinda unique looking. Don't care for the Fiesta name... still makes me think of the tiny ones of the 90's. Couldn't they have easily branded it with a new name?
Hopefully if they want these to be sporty they won't give them such a grandma color. But the color matched dash and seats are a nice touch!

However on the way to America, the engine will increase from 1.6L to 2.0L, the output will still be 89hp because we only get the automatic, and with the addition of a 300lb bumper in front and a 300lb bumper in the rear to meet US spec, it will suddenly only get 30s mpg, the unspoken limit that American car manufaturers are not allowed to exceed... :D

U.S.-spec Ford Fiesta snapped at Burger King - Autoblog
Someone already caught one 98% production ready for America, so I think the 2010 comment in the other article is a little off. In this article, the spokesman says you'll be surprised by the engine choice....turbo?

I like what I see. The 2 dr pics from the OP are really nice. I like the way it looks.
Somehow this will be messed up by Ford by the time it reaches retailers. I think making it in Mexico will have a lot to do with that. (If the rumors hold true that it's being built in Mexico)

ford has come a long way in past years. their European cars are often best in class. they have even worked with cosworth, whom are arguably the best engine builders around. the handling of the focus rs was very praised by Top Gear

Open your mind. Don't just look at the old days.
By the way I like Chevrolet better for racing anyway.
