Ok so seeing as the 09' fit has finally come stateside and everyyyone has something to say on which is the better model lets use this thread to convey our OPINIONS on which is the better model and WHY... GO


i own an 07' fit sport.. me personally i dont really like the looks of the new model i agree with some of the statements made on the other forums about the increased horsepower compensating for the increased weight but my biggest overall gripe and im agreeing with RAY on it; looking to AMERICANIZED.. GD3 FTW !

Ok once again ...the purpose of this thread is for people to give their OPINIONS on the two cars.. not cause a rift between the two crowds or "kill FitFreak"...everyone is entitled to their opinion and im sure people want to say whats on their minds... if not whats the point of a forum ??? is everyone expected to point at the 09' and say BEST CAR EVAARR !! lol no everybody has a reason for buying the car they own.

 

Look at the ****in' thread title and try and tell me you're aiming for a serious, mature discussion. Even if the title was neutral, this thread wouldn't work.

Although i cant even have 5 full grown adults + cargo in my car before it starts driving like a boat w/a busted engine, so having 10 cup holders would be pretty useless...just tons of places to toss stuff in.

Meh, I'll leave the arguing for the kids that like to put turbos and whale-tails on their fit. I'm getting an 09 simply because I want a practical and reliable car.

No body is forceing u to post or even look at any thing on fitfreak.

If your all about serious, mature discussion then dont post anything if u dont have anything good to say.

Let people use the forum for what is was built for to discusse opions and ideas.

Anyways i think the new fit is by no means "lost its jdm-ness" looking at the 1gen i see more american styling cues than any other honda. but thats just my thoughts still love both cuz why THERE BOTH FITS AND THIS IS FITFREAK!!!

 

We are going to be quickly outnumbered by people driving the new Fit's so there's no sense in being divided. I like the new Fit. I like my Fit. Personally i needed a car and I had been waiting for the price of the current one to be within reason. I'm not interested in paying huge dealer markups. It took a lot of effort to get a good price on mine as it is. I bought a base and got a great deal on it.

I'm not jealous of someone who bought an '09 with navigation and spend $19,000 on it because if I had $19k to spend on a car I wouldn't be buying a Fit in the first place :rotfl:

I love the Fit, it's a GREAT subcompact economy car but people paying $17, 18, 19,000 for one? I don't know what Honda is putting in the Kool-aid but I didn't drink any of it.

 

there are advantages and disadvantages to both.

drive what you want, don't hate on what YOU find to be inferior.






honda guys hate being called ricers...but can you blame those who do it? look at all the people here more preoccupied with how it looks rather than how it performs. thats rice if there ever was any.


and the whole 'the new fit has lost its jdm-ness' is probably the the stupidest bullshnit i've read on this forum.

When compared to other cars in Hondas line up, the model change from GD to GE is very minimalistic. If you look at the 01-05 Civics to the 06+, the interior was drastically changed as well as the exterior. Both of the Fits however really only seem to differ slightly on the inside, with the only major difference being the exterior. I see no real need to hate one car or the other. Do I think the GE8 is pretty ugly and lost some of that charm that the GD3 had, yes. However, everyone seems to take a liking to the Fits for their ability to excell at pretty much everything. And if our aesthetic tastes have to differ, then at least we know on the inside we're on the same page.

p.s.: the non navi dash looks sooo out of place though. lol

 

I obviously like my 08 but i think there will be some nice Modded 09's out there.But stock to stock i'll keep my 08

Well, the 09 doesn't look bad. The style is more provoked.

Things I don't like ? The pushed-out front grill, the unorganized center console (without nav system) & the weird-curve dashboard
