Tata Nano coming to Europe & USA

According to this article..
Cheap car from India could cost $8,000 in US- Yahoo! Autos Article Page

Base price will be approximately $8000 in Eu.. US to be determined

wow... just wow...

Too far down the scale for me, but I think Tata is doing a fantastic thing by offering a car for $2500 in India. In the US they might start showing up in cities but I'd hate to be the first one to have an 'encounter' with a garbage truck in one.

if you seen/experienced Tata cars this isnt something you'd be rushing to get into...

kenchan 01-18-2010 12:21 PM

you guys remember the Yugo? reminds me of that... lol

SEAKAYAKER 01-18-2010 01:04 PM

one word comes to mind: FUGLY

But it does make sense as a cheap city car for the thrifty. They will probably sell like hotcakes if they are thousands less then the current cheapest econobox.
Maybe it will open a new racing class? It would be fun as hell to see a bunch of these in some kind of rally race or demolition derby.

Yuck. That is all I have to say.

keepitpg 01-19-2010 12:08 PM

i would hate to get in an accident.

hogwylde 01-20-2010 10:22 PM

Damn. I thought the Tato Nano was the latest iPod......LOL

HONDAMATIC 01-21-2010 01:23 AM

thats what we need, cheap cars so EVERYONE will be on the road now

GD3_Wagoon 01-21-2010 02:30 PM

i'd rather drive a chinese moped in the rain than be seen in that death trap

That's awesome. I think Indian car conglomerate Tata Motors is recognized for creating the Nano, the world's cheapest car, as well as owning Jaguar and Land Rover. The Tata Nano costs only $2,500 brand new and the bare-bones box on tiny wheels is getting redesigned prior to going on sale in many European nations and the United States in a few years. It is simple to buy and sell car at the right dealership.

Tata Nano, CHEAP?!?

[QUOTE= The Tata Nano costs only $2,500 brand new[/QUOTE]

In a "few" years and after being "Americanized", there is no way that this car will cost $2,500. Interestingly enough, Iread an article that stated that aspiring Hindi did not like the image associated with such a cheap car, and thus it didas not achieve the sales success initially expected. :-)
