What's your favorite FF car?
Hey guys, I am a huge fan of all cars FF. (Front Engine, Front Wheel Drive)
I never used to distinguish my automotive tastes between FF, RF, AWD, etc. But lately I have been really sick of the whole drifting scene and as a result, I have developed a much stronger appreciation for FF cars and those who build on them. I'm just curious to see what other people's favorite FF car is, if you are an FF fan like me. My favorite: 2002-2006 B15 Sentra Amazing power to weight ratio. I've owned a Spec V before, and despite having a few quirks that need to be fixed, these are awesome cars to build on and race. Very soon it will be hard to get your hands on one. (The cars in the pic are not mine.) http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/9710/specv7.jpg http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6807/specv8.jpg |
I had an '06 Spec-V when I was out in Phoenix- GREAT little rig. Looked like nothing much, went like stink :) LOVED IT- hated having to trade it in, but I needed something bigger to fit all my stuff to move back across the country :(
My favorite was my 2004 Civic Si (EP). Easily swapped to the RSX-S K20A2, and with a bit of suspension work, a Quaife LSD, and sticky tires, I was UNTOUCHABLE in the autocross. With a handbuild 403 WHP (273 ft.-lbs. torque) turbo engine, it was untouchable on the road course, too :) I miss that thing... :) Mark W. |
The ITR is a legend. However the fit (not being built for track) is amazing too. you guys heard what spoon had to say about the fits design? pretty damn great
|
i would have to say VR6 corrado... sweet lil ride even though ive never own one but hopefully one day ill be able to own one and maybe road course it
|
I like the VW pickups of the early 80s.. I had a couple of the diesel powered ones that were lacking in horsepower but loaded with low end torque... With a 10" longer wheelbase than the Rabbit and lower center of gravity they handled amazingly well and had a great ride despite the leaf spring rear suspension.

I'm currently driving my favorite FF. I love this thing to death!!

I had an 07' Cooper S but the above car is the limited edition, Euro only JCW F1 edition (John Cooper Works) I did drive a JCW Mini from Philly to Detroit 2 summers ago and the car is just awesome to drive, very quick and with 12.4" Brembo's and weight that of the Fit and 208 hp, well, you can imagine! |
208 HP I like, I'm easy on brakes and not likely to overheat the ones I have so I'll concentrate on getting more horsepower out of my Fits then I might want larger brakes...

Wow definitely a surprising mix. I was expecting a lot more EG, EK, ITR responses.
Just thought I would throw another one out there... Even though I despise 99% of their products, I have to give respect to Chevy's supercharged Cobalt SS. Like the SRT-4 it definitely wasn't the best looking car, but I have to say there are few cars I've driven that were as comfortable or handled so nicely on top of having tons of power at hand. |

and this... http://www.dancrouchblog.com/wp-cont...05/mk2_gti.jpg |
Hi Hayden. I think the GD is a sports car also as well as the early VW Rabbit GTIs... I perceived the Fit to be an Asian reincarnation of the GTI which performed much like a BMW 2002.... It was what I had been hoping that someone would come out with over here and I bought the first one with Manual transmission I could find never having seen one except in magazine articles and online

I can totally understand that. Why do you think I'm here? I likened the SX4 I owned previously to a moder day Subaru 2.5rs in spirit, and this car is definitely a euro hatch inspired incarnation of Japanese perfection. I have a good deal of experience with the 2002, and it's a classic! So are the e30s, of course. ;) I also agree with the corrado statement made earlier in the thread, although their reliability almost blacklists them.
