well the side of the car is looking a lot better in one color

Hahaha right! That's why I didn't put any pics of my car up until I was able to get a better picture of what I'm trying to do. I'm glad that part of this project is over. It was worth it, I am now living one of my dreams.

 

so i've put some ideas together. the deck spoiler isn't going to be this big but you can get the idea

Me likey, the car and the art on it.. as for the headlights I think painting them black and adding up projectors will make them look good..

edit : wouldn't that added panel on the rear door add to more wind resistance ? wouldn't a much less aggressive angle look nice ?

 

i love how this thread started as a flame thread and turned out to be a build thread for a 1 off custom body kit. I will say that this is definitely amazing and i'll be checking in time to time to see the progress. I'm normally against body kits but when someone has the love and devotion for their car like you do, i can do nothing but respect it.

Yes it would. That's a photoshop pic just to put the idea out. The spoiler will be a lot smaller.( I'm not that great with the painting program on my computer) hahaha sorry I miss read the question. I had assumed it would be neutral. Do to the hour glass shape of the car now. the idea came from a premade body kit sold for Bentley's. plus if I were to smooth it gradually into the door I would be afraid it would start looking more like a maxima but I guess I could try going a little less agresive.

 

are you sticking with those wheels? i think you should go with something a little more "baller status"

Well first off I'm not keeping the rims. I will be doing the fender flares at the same time. I'm thinking of putting 9"1/2 to 10" wide tires and I want the body to sit flush with the rims. Also i mite go with 18" instead the 20"s it has now

 

yup, that's more like it, pretty much what i had in mind. I'd go with an 18x9.5 with a +20 offset.

Great thread....I love seeing this kind of innovation!

Regarding the reverse lights....instead of putting in some tacky LEDs, I think you should wire the Maxima rear turn signal to dual function as blinkers and reverse lights. That way the rear end will look clean. I would also be careful making the rear bumper too aggressive...you gotta remember this is a grocery getter, not an IS-F. I think it will look much better with a subtle, classy rear end. This body kit strikes me as more of a VIP build rather than a road race kit.

 

doesnt the maxima tail lights have reverse lights already?
