Anyone else tempted by the 2012 VW Golf R??
So i was chatting with a buddy of mine who has one of the 20th anniversary R32's with the 6spd gear box and awd and he was telling me they are releasing a new one to the states in the spring of 2012. I absolutely love my ge but that car is very tempting. 266hp on a turbo i4 with awd...yumm
Check it out, and lemme hear your thoughts... :D

Java, I hate you right now... I just read the first section and I'm already digging it.. UGH! Lol I'll tell you what I really think about it when I finish.
Update: Yep, I hate you. That thing is sick... Idk If I could spend the 33k on it. I might get the GTI though. :p

haha yeah it effin sexy and i think my justification is that id rather put another 15k down for something ultimately better than into something that will still leave something to the imagination. I would probably be able to afford selling my fit and getting this next spring. So much for the thought of keeping my fit for a loooong time.

VW has been secured in that "special" group of cars for me... in that I've encountered too many assholes driving them to ever buy them. Which was ALL/only German cars... and lately, thinking of adding Toyota (if only because of the Prius). Subaru is getting close for consideration too.
It no longer matters how good the car is... or even how good -I- think it is.

I'm with ya, Java. Super nice car. I test drove a 2010 GTI, and I may pick one up used when the prices drop. Way better drivers car than the fit, of course, the cost difference is quite a jump. Come on used GTI prices!!!

The upcoming Golf R will retail in the mid-$30k range. I'd be tempted if it didn't cost more than twice what I paid for my Fit. It's a great car, and I'd choose it over the rest of the FI hot hatches, but still... In the used market 30k will by a lot of car.
