Honda Fit AC

Brand new Honda Fit Sport 2012 with 1000 miles on it. On an interstate trip 70 MPH on a 90+ degree hot day. After about 2 hours noticed not much cool air from AC. Green pilot light on AC switch is on. Shut off AC switch for 5 minutes, turn back on and had all the cool air we wanted. Seemed like the 5 minutes off/on performed some kind of "reset." Anyone ever experienced this behavior? Thanks

evaporator is icing up. It's not normal.

My AC button light is fine, but I've noticed my air just doesn't cool as well as I'd like. It comes in patches, very cold then warm, almost all the time. Thought it was just the way the air is, but just seems odd the more I think about it.

It must be normal for the evaporator on Fits to ice up if you live in an area with high temperature and humidity... We had record heat last summer with 71 days at 100+ as high as 116... It was also very dry and no icing over.. I removed my cabin filter and set the fan on high and the vents mostly on the fresh air setting and haven't had any problems except at night with the ventilation setting in the recirculate setting.... Tinted windows, top of windshield and vent visors have helped to lower the interior temperature a lot more than I anticipated.

I had this happen yesterday on my 2008. It was 90+ degrees and very high humidity. I turned off the A/C button for a few minutes and the fan started blowing again.
