Can anyone read Japanese? In order L-to-R, top then bottom: Vivid Sky Blue Pearl Attract Yellow Pearl Alabaster Silver Metallic Light Beige Metallic Crystal Black Pearl Milano Red |
I can.
"We are useless Japanese management who prefer to hire our exterior designers from failed vacuum cleaner manufacturers. This model is known internally as 'extreme underpower v3.0' and is available in an array of colors designed to appeal to dogs, who do not see in color. For this all-new model, we have chosen to equip the car with a downsized engine to maximize teenager disappointment. The Fit will be available in markets worldwide, but because we know that Americans are nearly bankrupt and will always go for what's cheapest, theirs will be assembled in Mexico. This arrangement will nicely support Japanese parts suppliers, because the end customer will need to frequently replace the bits of the car originally supplied with Mexican parts. "Mostly as a result of not focusing our efforts on visual appeal or performance engineering, the Fit will achieve excellent fuel economy and will rarely be the target of thieves. Insuring it will be affordable and we expect the car to have high appeal among retirees, which we will specifically target with marketing materials designed to appeal 20-year-olds." That might not be 100% accurate but you get the gist. :) |
Applause .

I really hope that's not the new version.

Most of the comments in Autoblog say this new generation fit looks UGLY.
well, ... yeah, it is UGLY ! Car that will NEVER be my car: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....aked628opt.jpg vs. My Car Sweet Car :) http://i849.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps777ebad9.jpg What The Heck is WRONG with Honda Design Dept. ? |
I seem to eventually like cars that when they were initially release I did not like ( kind of grows on you) as opposed to getting excited at the initial release and after a short period not really excited. Currently I like the looks of my 2012 MR Sport and the money invested in it means I plan on keeping beyond when Honda does the midlife update for the third generation Fit. Who knows it is rumor that the Civic hatchback maybe back in the USA in the 2016 model year.

2014 Honda Fit:
Mother = Honda Civic (front) Father = Dodge Caliber (rear) The next Honda commercial: One of the "Dodge Boys" (a Mexican wearing a cowboy hat with a Dodge logo and wearing a Honda assembly polo) walks up to the 2014 and says "Fit, you are my son." |
Gotta be the hybrid or electric version....( hope so at least).

but it kinda grow on me and now I like it. The new Mercedes Benz SL class looks is growing on me too... but there are some cars that the look had not grown on me any bit, in fact it look worse and worse, which are car like the 2012 Honda Civic, and the latest Honda CR-V Even after the latest facelift, the 2013 Honda Civic still not look as good as the previous generation civic especially if you look from behind. The current Honda CR-V looks like a previous generation Honda CR-V with deformed shoulder/back like hunchback of notre dame. The Toyota Prius is also one of the car that NEVER grow on me no matter how long it had been on the market... I don't know about this new Fit since the USDM version might had entirely different front bumper/grille and rear bumper style, so hopefully the USDM version will look better. my question is, why can't Honda Design Dept. make car that looks Gorgeous from the start anymore ? I remember car like Integra or the old Acura Legend, or the NSX, or the 1990's Accord and early 90's Civic, they all look great from the moment they were launch ! Look at the old 1990's NSX and compare it with the current new upcoming NSX... I mean when I see Aryton Senna driving the old NSX picture, I was like, wow, it sure looks better then some Ferrari... but when I look at the current NSX despite it is driven by Robert Downey JR in Iron Man movie, I was NOT impressed at all... Forget about comparing the looks of current NSX with Ferrari, that current NSX don't even look as good as the old NSX ! Look at Hyundai Sonata or it KIA Optima twin sibling, they look Gorgeous from the start... if not because they are "Korean" car, I think they would sell even better. but if things are staying like this at Honda, in about 10 years people will start to forget the cache of "Japanese" car and Hyundai/Kia Korean car background will actually might help them sell more... wait a minute... this next fit is not a Made in Japan car anymore, it is going to be Made in Mexico... I am sure they will have good standard at Mexico factory, but there is always that extra prestige to have your car made in a developed country... like Japan... again why can't Honda Design Dept. make a car that WOW us from the launch till the day it is discontinued ? you know, car like the OLD NSX or our GD and GE Fit ! |
Look at the cars right side windshield A pillar its just a PS job.

That thing is ugly as hell...jeez what are they thinking? I'll keep my 2010 :)

vs. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...Qd_Z6ODOQy2ajA I think the OLD NSX looks much better ! if Honda follow the old NSX design and improve it with current / more modern proportion, the car will NOT look like that New NSX, but will look more like current Ferrari, just like the Old NSX looks similar (or better) then it's generation Ferrari. here one more picture, NSX and Senna ! http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8289/7...9d2f5bb6_z.jpg |
its the two brand thing. I think they purposely water down american honda designs. If the Honda versions look as good and has the same extra features as Acura, who would buy them?
At least for me the design similarities are there. Civic = TL/TSX Accord = RL Now I'd be curious if they ever release an Acura Fit. edit. overseas there is no Acura or "luxury" brand. but their honda versions for accord/civic can have the same features and looks as good as our acura versions. its just the damn badge. |

I am super happy I picked my 2013 2nd gen sport up when I had the chance. That 3rd gen looks stoopid AF.

I have to reserve judgement until we get better photos than these distorted and angled shots

Yeah, idk about this. It looks like an Insight got squished.
Now these versions aren't bad. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O43sUOqpH9...-photoshop.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SU3dfjUC78...peculation.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9VOEJRbhRJ...ering-blue.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Z9PUeMuUum...acuras-jdm.jpg |

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....aked628opt.jpg The first "Type R" rendering are beautiful, but if you look closely and compare directly to the lower picture (the lower picture suppose to come from scanned copy of brochure) then you realize the 2 car above are very different structurally... just look at the shape of the small window near the front A Pillar and also the one near the C Pillar. also look at the crest/line at the door... also the rake of the windshield... plus the total height from the lower bumper line to the hood... and the length from the A Pillar to the end of the front hood |
