Nissan kills the Altima Coupe

Another front-wheel drive coupe bites the dust

Front-wheel drive coupes are quickly disappearing from North America and the latest casualty is the Nissan Altima Coupe.
Originally introduced at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Altima Coupe was designed to appeal to customers looking to express their sense of "style" and "individuality." Unfortunately, few buyers materialized despite the fact that the model could be equipped with a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine that developed 270 bhp (201 kW).
Nissanhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png didn't have much to say about the model's death, but it isn't expected to be replaced due to a lack of demand. This effectively means the Honda Accord Coupe will become one of the last large, front-wheel drive coupes in the United States.
As for the rest of Nissan's 2014 lineup, there isn't much to report as most models have already been announced or feature minor changes such as new exterior colors or revised option packages. The only notable exception is 2014 Rogue which is slated to debut this fall.

Pretty sure the success of the Accord Coupe is what is driving Nissan to remove their Altima coupe

Cannot compete at all with the new v6 6speeds in both auto and manual. The new accord is pretty damn fast

It never was a viable family sedan, the trunk was miniscule in size, barely capable of holding two roller bags. The 3.5 engine was a great power plant, but I think if it weren't for the rental car market this model would have died long ago.
