Starts at $16,945

Mazda has announced the 2014 Mazda3 will be priced from $16,945 - excluding a $795 destination charge - in the United States.
Set to go on sale in September, the entry-level model comes nicely equipped with body-color bumpers, power windows / locks, remote keyless entry and 16-inch steel wheels. There's also a tilt / telescopic steering wheel, a push-button ignition, air conditioning, sport seats and a four-speaker audio system with AUX / USB connectivity.
Moving up to the $18,445 ($18,945 for the hatchback) i Sport variant adds Bluetooth connectivity, illuminated steering wheel controls and a 60/40 split folding rear seat. Other goodies include cruise control, body-colored side mirrors, a CD player and a tachometer.
The $19,595 ($20,095) i Touring boasts all the aforementioned equipment as well as bright exterior trim, a rear spoiler and 16-inch aluminum wheels. Inside, there's nicer upholstery, a leather-wrapped hand brake and contrast stitching on the steering wheel and shift knob. The model is also equipped with a Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
The i Grand Touring starts at $22,745 ($23,245) and comes equipped with leatherette seats, a moonroof, a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat and heated front seats.
All the aforementioned models have a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter engine that produces 155 bhp (115 kW) and 150 lb-ft (203 Nm) of torque. It enables the sedan to return 29 mpg city / 41 mpg highway with a six-speed manual and 30 mpg city / 41 mpg highway with a six-speed automatic. Likewise, the hatchback should get 29 mpg city / 40 mpg highway with the six-speed manual and 30 mpg city / 40 mpg highway with the automatic.
Ordering the $24,595 ($25,095) s Touring rewards owners with bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, a revised grille and 18-inch aluminum wheels. There's also leatherette seats, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and an Active Driving Display.
Lastly, the range-topping s Grand Touring starts at $25,995 for the sedan and $26,495 for the hatchback. It comes nicely equipped with an adaptive front-lighting system, rain-sensing windshield wipers and an auto dimming rearview mirror. Other highlights include perforated leather seats and a power moonroof. The car can also be equipped with a $1,600 Touring Technology Package which adds i-ELOOP regenerative braking, an active shutter grille, High Beam Control (HBC), a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and Smart City Brake Support (SCBS).
The latter two models are powered by a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G engine that develops 184 bhp (137 kW) and 185 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque. It will be available exclusively with a six-speed automatic at launch so the sedan returns 28 mpg city / 39 mpg highway or 29 mpg city / 40 mpg highway with i-ELOOP technology. The hatchback, on the other hand, returns 28 mpg city / 37 mpg highway or 29 mpg city / 39 mpg highway with i-ELOOP technology.

So close to 30k for a feature-laden 3.....

but looks soooo good. Guess its time to stop modding and ride my 09 for 2 more years while saving for the grand touring 3!
