Goes on sale early next year

Volkswagen has announced plans to introduce the US-spec Golf R at the North American International Autohttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png Show.
Designed to be the ultimate Golf, the model is distinguished by an aerodynamic body kit, a four tailpipe exhaust system and 18-inch alloy wheels. The carhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png also has matte chrome mirror caps and a sport-tuned suspension that reduces the ride height by up to 0.8 inches.
The cabin comes nicely equipped with two-tone leather sport seats, Carbon Touch trim and alloy pedals. Other niceties include a three-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting and an infotainment system with up to a 5.8-inch display.
Power will be provided by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces an estimated 290 bhp (216 kW) and 280 lb-ft (379 Nm) of torque. This will enable the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in as little as 4.9 seconds.
Speaking of performance, the Golf R has also been equipped with a 4MOTION all-wheel drive and XDS differentials.
The 2015 Volkswagen Golf R will go on sale in the United States early next year and pricing will be announced closer to launch.

Subaru has in japan a new 2015 WRX wagon no hatch or wagon offering in the USA
similar power.

More exciting, especially if your family is rapidly outgrowing your WRX and you can’t stand the thought of a humdrum crossover, is the 2.0L direct-injection turbo’d boxer option. With close to 300 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, it’s a corker and makes for one hot wagon.
