Fit vs Caliber SE?
 

My sister is still debating between the Fit and the Caliber

so what do y'all think, i already picked the Fit Sport, it won't be here till next week so i still don't know how to judge this comparison. What are the advantage and disadvantage in the comparison if anyone have any knowledge, please let me know? Thanks you ahead

To help fill in your sheet, the Fit is a 1.5, and the sport AT is rated 31/37 (average 33) by the EPA. The Caliber is rated 28/32 by Dodge, with an average of a little below 30. This assumes 60% city, 40% highway.

I'd personally rather have a Honda because of reliability, but that's a personal decision. The Caliber is much more beefy engine-wise, but I have a feeling that the real-world MPG is going to be much lower than 30.

This is a dying thread, but it compares 2 cars of several that I initially considered strongly. This thread also sends you to a better thread that I have also posted to. Wanted to get a new car with CVT that had been perfected(made reliable). I waited for the Honda Fit to come to the U.S., but it came with no CVT. It was also out of my budget range because of its popularity.

I've had my SE 2 liter Caliber w/CVT, a/c, & ABS since 9/29/2006, purchased for $14,000. Before you go to the other thread, here are the highlights of my Caliber. The CVT gives a smooth magic carpet ride. Drives in the mountains are elegant with the CVT adjusting to all slopes without pause or hesitation. The engine & wind noise are low, but tire noise is bothersome. My most updated MPG's are as follows: highway high of 35.6MPG on flat, easy terrain; OVERALL AVERAGE is 30.9 MPG for 39 tanks; averaging between 32.5 & 33MPG over 4000 foot mountain passes. My SE Caliber is creak & rattle free & 100% functioning with 11,600 miles driven. My Chrysler dealer has been the best dealer I ever had!
