VIN Decoder Fraud !

Hey guys! I have gotten into a very disappointing situation lately. I'm just trying to prevent everybody from making the same mistake i did. I bought a vehicle that had front end damage from a collision, which wasn't disclosed by the seller. And he’d shown me a CARFAX report, which also didn't show any accident records — the car was absolutely clean according to it. However, I ran a report on another website, epicvin.com, and it showed that the car was in an accident and then repaired. I don't know why this information wasn't disclosed by CARFAX, but now I'm aware that CARFAX isn’t a service that can be trusted, and I won't use it again.

He showed you a piece of paper that said the car didn't have any damage.

I can show you 100 pieces of paper that don't say your car has damage.

Have you run a Carfax report yourself, or are you trusting that the nice man who concealed the damage from you showed you the actual Carfax report for that actual VIN?

Bummer about getting taken, though.

I ran the carfax report myself, it was clean. Even though the problems were evident
Then a friend told me about epicvin and i ran it there

The second report has photos of my car at the auction i bought it, and before its amazing tranformations.

Wow, brutal front end damage. It had to be an odd accident for the airbags to not deploy, like the truck was parked. That could lead to some non-standard arrangements, depending on who hit it and who was paying for the damage.

There's a lot of people buying and then dumping this rig- damaged auction sale in NJ in Sep 14, repaired and sold this year, 1100 miles later sold in Texas and sold to you 41 miles later. That sucks.

Sucks, but it looks like Carfax covers themselves with this statement at the bottom: "Carfax depends on its sources for the accuracy and reliability of its information. Therefore, no responsibility is assumed by Carfax or its agents for errors or omissions in this report."

Haven't you heard about buyback? You should try that
