Hondalink Head Unit App Installations

1 Attachment(s)
I have a 2016 Fit and have yet to find any success stories for how to install apps like Google Maps, Spotify, Waze, etc. onto the head unit to use at any time driving/parked.

The only thing I both love and hate at the same time is the Fit head unit. I'm happy with the functionality of the head unit, however, in and of it self I truly hate (even angering) the lack of user options and lack of ability for users to add or update additional apps onto it. After all, we payed for the car and are responsible for our own decisions, why would Honda feel they have the right to rob us of our own choices! I've seen numerous video's of success stories for the accord and CRV, but why would Honda make it so much more difficult or impossible for proud Fit owners?

Just now I came across a short video on YouTube demonstrating success and a link to a page with vague instructions and links for the apk's. The video is totally uninformative on how to do it but does demonstrate success, although it doesn't describe the year or make of the Honda vehicle. The link in the video description will take you to a webpage with instructions and links to the apk files for installing some much desired apps onto the head unit.

Has anyone seen this before, tried it, or had any success with it?

Will it work with a 2016 Fit or newer, or is it for older models only?

I've also attached a pdf of the website instructions and links for the apk files.

I emailed the individual and he responded back that there is nothing available for the Honda Fit. Boohoo

Took some pics of some sub menu's that I've accessed, but I have to admit I don't know what many of the acronyms stand for and I haven't got a foggy clue what I'm doing, lol.

Simultaneously holding down Home and Menu for a few seconds will open this sub menu. Selecting "Others" will present you with "Serial Debug" on/off.

I'm hoping someone out there will have the knowledge to figure out how to allow us to access our head units full potential in order to make it more useful and easy to install additional apps like Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, etc....
