waiting!

I'm eager to see how/if it matches the sport's steering wheel. I STILL think the sport MT's knob feels like a hunk of tire.

Do you have an '08? I've noticed some people have a different stock shift knob then me. Mine isn't the big rubber one, it is more round and has dimples in it similar to the leather steering wheel...

I guess my 08 has the big rubber knob. It has a texture but certainly no dimples. My great niece (3 yr old) broke my camera so there will be no pictures.

Vendor just informed me that the leather shift knob was shipped today... so it's going to take 2 weeks to get to me... starting to wonder if I will ever get it...

long time

I hope it'd perfect after all this time. I'm still interested in seeing how well it matches the sport's wheel. Good Luck!

Finally I have it! Here are some pics:

Over all I think it is a great match, the dimples are identical, they are just spaced out a little more than on the stearing wheel (tried to show in the picture #1, camera isn't that great), but once installed you won't be able to notice. The knob is a good weight, and feels like it is really high quality in your hand. It sits slightly higher than the stock knob, only because it is a taller knob overall. The fit on the shifter is great because at the base of the knob are 3 screws that you can tighten for a snug fit (seen in picture #2). The knob is indented for your thumb and fingers for a really comfortable feel. Rubber shift boot doesn't really work, but I bought a universal leather shift boot that I have to alter in order to get it to fit. Hopefully that will match better.

You can click on them to enlarge... not sure why it didn't turn out like other pics I have seen in forums... guess I will have to re-read the instructions...

You have to put the base of the knob on uncrewed first to tighten the screws underneath.

black!

I wish that black bottom ring wasn't SO black! There's got to be a way around that. The leather matches quite well!

Yeah, it is pretty black, if your handy you could always paint it a duller shade of black, or buy some excess leather, leave the base off and cover the threads with a strip of leather... I'm going to see if I can use my leather shift boot to cover up the threads.

paint?

There's some way to make that BLACK match the leather's gray. Perhaps a lighter color paint?

Perhaps, I would imagine it would be hard to find... The Home Depot does paint matching, all you would have to do is bring in a sample of the color you would want matched up, and they would scan it and mix some up for you... but you would have to spray it on... I don't think they can make up spray cans...
