WTB: Clean GD3 Fit in the SE

Clean GD3 Fit in the SE
I'm looking for another GD to buy (this one for keeps!). Something in or around Florida is preferred, I'm not wanting to travel too far but will for the right deal. Overall mileage isn't important, paint and body condition is #1 above all else. I'm not looking for the perfect Fit, something that needs a little mechanical love is preferred as I'll be going through it and upgrading most everything anyhow, but it still should run and drive.
Musts:
- 5MT, I won't buy an auto
- Sport model, because why not?
- No SBM, NBP, or DVP colors, everything else is fair game. VBP, TW, or MR would be awesome!
Bonus points for factory condition, I'll pass if the car is clapped out.
Ideally I'd like to be around $5k on the price but I'm flexible, no scum bags and additional dealer fees please.

Your GE looks good! Unfortunately it is much more than I want to spend on a Fit, GD or GE, unless said higher priced Fit already has a K swap, then I'm happy to pony up. But thank you for the offer and good luck with the sale.

I'll add this in to the mix... I'm getting ready to sell my ZHP, it'll be listed as soon as the headliner and pillars are back from the upholstery shop. Yes, everything is being re-done in OEM anthracite fabric (I'm even anal enough to make sure they correctly line the weave on the pillars too). Overall the car is OEM+, I have only upgraded what was necessary and enhanced the driving experience. It's a fully loaded 2003- 6-speed, xenons, nav, H/K stereo, cold weather package, silver cube trim, black alcantara interior and steering wheel... I have the full list plus additions at the ready if you're potentially interested in working a trade.

Thanks! I'll throw up a link somewhere around here once it's buttoned up and for sale.
My Fit search ended earlier tonight... (Sorry FW! Yours will sell no doubt!) An '08 GD3 hit the local market and I jumped. SSM, 5MT, no frills. It isn't perfect aesthetically but clean and the mechanicals are solid- clean title, no rust, recent new clutch, no body leaks -and the price was good. No photos yet, those are after a bath this weekend. Next stop- mod parts, build thread and drive time!

Anybody interested in a E46 should go to the E46 fanatics page and read a lot.. Its not a car that rewards skipping maintenance.. I own both a fit and a E46... I could by a GD about every 2 to 3 years for the maintenance cost.. Don't get me wrong my 05, 330XI M-techII is a wonderful car 6spd and all the goodies, but it does have a cost.

Lol, yeah. It's pretty ironic and I laughed about it too. SSM wasn't on my radar for a replacement, but the other factors were right and so it happened.
The other one was too clean. Originally I wanted a clean GD because it was a GD. Then after a while I realized that I wanted a GD that could be a GD but one that I also wouldn't feel bad about hacking up for a K20, or changing the brakes/suspension/seats/etc, or feel bad about stuffing it in to a wall at Sebring. The new owner of my old SSM GD wanted that car for the same reasons, to be a GD and keep miles off of his AP1.

Thanks for the luck but there's no way you (or I) should be looking at $8k for the swap... Ok, if you're paying a shop for the swap then sure. Even with the JDM K20A that I'm targeting, my swap cost estimate is roughly $5k. It'll be more if I splurge for dyno time and custom mapping. Granted I'm doing all of the work myself. If you were happy starting with a K20A2 or A3 the swap could be done for ~$2.5-3k. Again, you're doing all of the labor. It wouldn't be using tip top parts, just the Hasport mounts/axles and the OEM swap stuff. Get it running, driving and enjoy a quick GD with a screaming K20 that can still handle all of the utilitarian stuff the car was originally designed for... sounds good to me!

trust me its going to cost that even your own labor my cousin did it on his EK and another friend on their FIT. keep in mind k20a2 swap is roughly 3k for whole swap with tranny, the type r is about 4500k getting everything together plus you have to run kpro, that ecu alone is 700 without a tune. If you are lucky you can get the a2 ecu or the a3ecu if you plan to use the a3 motor and have the immobilizer unlocked but thats tough. Again i know ive done the swap plenty of times with family and friends. its going to cost 8k to do it the right way turn key everything working. I know this also because my friend owns one of the most famous honda shops here in central florida which is All version motoring. look them up. If im goigg to do a kswap it will be only the k20a2 or the type r, no sense in spending all that money for a base k20a3 which doesnt even have vtec on the exhaust side just intake side. all the jdm k20's you see out there are base ones and are useless for you will be spending unless you go with type r k20.

I believe that I'll be closer to the $5k mark than you think. Granted I will be fabricating the header myself and don't plan to purchase KPro right away, I'll run dual ECUs and keep the factory tune for starters. When I start a build thread on here I'll keep an accurate total and that'll be the tell all, so we'll see!
