Ridiculous amount of SPAM
I have been very active on dozens of forums and have never seen anywhere near the amount of Spam as I see on here. Whats up with that? Dont we have measures to prevent this?

But basically it has to be stopped at new member registration, and understand that most spam is done with auto register/spammer programs. So you could add the question to the registration "Are you human? or ad image recognition, (those squigley goofy numbers and letters) vBulletin, (the people who make the software for this and many other forums) has their own forum and an example of one spam fighting thread Forum Robot Spam Prevention Recommendations - vBulletin Community Forum I would think Internet Brands (who owns this and many other forums) could get off their rears with some big time support and give the admins here some spam fighting tools.;) |
