shave down mounting face to increase offset

have any of you ever heard of a process where you shave or grind down the mounting face on a rim to get a higher offset ??

the reason i ask is because i want to get the kosei K1 TS rims in 15x7 but the only offset available is +38mm

a few people have told me that there is a chance it would rub but if you shave down the mounting face then essentially you'll be getting a higher offset, i was wondering if this process existed and if there exists machinery which could do this safely, obviously the biggest concern would be the mounting face is shaved off unevenly leaving you with a wheel which wobbles

i know wheel spacers exist which are used to decrease offset but i am unaware of anything you can do to increase it
