Hey, Chris,
Thanks a LOT for trying to put this together. I can't guess how many committed people Skunk2 needs to see in order to make a production run at the previously mentioned price. But you need to be aware that a lot of your responders are merely expressing interest, not commitment. I posted a link to your original thread on the CA S.F. Bay Area sub-forum, suggesting that members here sign up- an opportunity not to be missed!
However, later posts seem to show that some of the names posted on your list are merely expressing interest, not commitment. "Gee, if they make this kit and sell it at that price, maybe I'll by one, but I sure don't have the money now!".
Just FIY- if this kit were available today, I would be phoning my credit card number in right now!. I will be ready at ANY TIME to buy this kit that it becomes available. This would be a bargain.
In 1990, I purchased a rear disc brake kit for my 1987 Ford Bronco II from Stainless Steel Brakes in New York. The price at that time was about $550.00, and the parts were from a 1988 Thunderbird. Based upon today's economy, the "projected" price for a Skunk2 Fit system "group buy" would be ridiculously low.
So, ONE of the names on your list is READY at a moment's notice. Please let us know what your contact at Skunk2 feels is enough committed people to actually make and sell at a group buy price!!!!
Thanks again---
Dave
