Are there rim size requirements for these?
Do they fit the stock 14 inch steelies?

Hey, Chris,
Thanks a LOT for trying to put this together. I can't guess how many committed people Skunk2 needs to see in order to make a production run at the previously mentioned price. But you need to be aware that a lot of your responders are merely expressing interest, not commitment. I posted a link to your original thread on the CA S.F. Bay Area sub-forum, suggesting that members here sign up- an opportunity not to be missed!
However, later posts seem to show that some of the names posted on your list are merely expressing interest, not commitment. "Gee, if they make this kit and sell it at that price, maybe I'll by one, but I sure don't have the money now!".
Just FIY- if this kit were available today, I would be phoning my credit card number in right now!. I will be ready at ANY TIME to buy this kit that it becomes available. This would be a bargain.
In 1990, I purchased a rear disc brake kit for my 1987 Ford Bronco II from Stainless Steel Brakes in New York. The price at that time was about $550.00, and the parts were from a 1988 Thunderbird. Based upon today's economy, the "projected" price for a Skunk2 Fit system "group buy" would be ridiculously low.
So, ONE of the names on your list is READY at a moment's notice. Please let us know what your contact at Skunk2 feels is enough committed people to actually make and sell at a group buy price!!!!
Thanks again---
Dave

Question. Played with the stock brakes so far and they seem to be pretty nice. How will the rear disc affect braking bias and will it even be as good as the drums? $600 for stock Civic tiny rear brakes seem high for me.
#34
ABS is still retained which is good, Rear disc cut down maintenance, cuts down on nose dive, and gives the car better balance while braking. There IS a reason sports cars come with 4 wheel Disc brakes

chris......u know what? I have the money already for it, even I'm not getting SC yet. I'm not just interest on it I will get it. hopefully this GB will not down

True that 4 wheel disc brakes help sports cars... but those cars were engineered with those brakes in mind. Having disc brakes added on might make the braking bias go to the rear too much, which in turn would affect how it drives. I totally wanna go with rear discs as I think our rear drums are sorta whack for a 2008 year Japanese model car, but I don't wanna have my ABS acting up each time I jab the brakes.
<---curious, but not for sure convinced to get on this band wagon without testing.

abs is not affected. Skunk2 designed this conversion with racing in mind, and definitely doesnt make the braking un even. Some JDM/Euro models come with rear disc. The only difference between this kit and the OEM one is this one wont cost 1000 bucks

Chris,
Your list now has 26 names. If these kits were available today, I'll bet 20 of those on the list would be able to buy. If that happened, at a price of around $650. each, That would net Skunk2 $13,000. in sales for the new product release.
Based upon what fitreaks did for Progress Tech. in sales of the rear anti-sway bar, with 20 or more Skunk2 brake kits going out the door on the same day, then being reviewed and raved about here on the forum would sell another 50 or more kits. Any remaining kits from the first production could be listed on eBay Motors and would be gone in a day or so.
As a manufacturer myself, this sounds like a great launch of a new product. All of the preceding leads to my questions to you:
What feedback regarding production and release of this kit, based on today's 26 people on the list, have you received from your contact at Skunk2???? How many listed people do you need for them to start fabrication?
Thanks in advance for your info.
