SF Bay Area Window Tinting

Does anyone have any recommendations for window tinters in the bay area?

I am looking for a high quality tint, and I don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

I really like King Tint's work in San Mateo. He does 3M tint but it does cost $40-$60 more than the so so brand name tints. He stands behind his work. Also 3M has a life time warranty.

I got quotes from a few places, but I ended up going with Auto Image Window Tinting in Belmont:

Auto Image Window Tinting - Belmont, CA

Really nice guys, did all 9 windows in less than 2 hrs, $280 for the whole job. I got the SunTek Carbon series with the lifetime warranty. (I believe 3M is $40 cheaper, but it has just a 5 year warranty.)

Anyway, I would recommend.

If you're South Bay, I've been very happy with Blackout in Gilroy. They've done both my cars and do great work at a good price. They mostly use Lumar and 3M. They did my Fit with 3M (lifetime warranty) for $300 for all 9 windows.

There's a place in Vallejo that did my fit's windows minus the front for $140 then had the driver's & front passenger done for $40. They're located along valle vista beside 7 flags

Auto Mall Tint Specialist - Professional Window Tinting. In Fremont, California.

in Fremont.

Really a professional shop; straight with you, always flexible and will give a good deal. More expensive than some, as they're using high quality product (Huber etc.) but he'll work with your budget.

Many, many + rep points:

I got a quote from here for $100 more than what I paid at Auto Image. Too overpriced.

I had my A3 tinted with Huper Optik at Auto Mall Tint Specialist and they did a stellar job. They are a little pricey, but my reason for not going with them is because I am not interested in the films they use for my Fit. The Huper has a greenish hue and I don't think it will look good on my orange Fit.

I think I am deciding between 3M Color Stable vs. FormulaOne Pinnacle.

I went to King Tint today and got 3M CS 20% all around. Douglas is a really nice guy and the car looks great. It is probably darker than I preferred/is legal.

Good to hear you got the 3M tint from King....

I went cheap on my Fit with tent and regret it. I had the 3M on my old car and it rocked! Good choice

Well, I just got pulled over and was given a fix-it-ticket because it is too dark. So, I am going to have it all taken off and re-tinted with something lighter.

I've always had my cars tinted at California Glass Tinting

The owner John is cool. He charged me $240 all the way around with 35% Madico Charcool tint. I highly recommend them.

If you're in the North Bay, I'd recommend Total Eclipse (next to Sonnen BMW in San Rafael). Back in 2003 they tinted my M3 and did an awesome job. I plan on going back there with my Fit once things start to warm up again (Spring).

Cool guy. He pretty much tinted all of the Bay Area RSX's.
Also has video games for you to play or you can watch a movie while your car is getting tinted.

I came in here to post this. Vincent's a great guy, and did a perfect job on my tint and clear bra. When I stopped by the dealership, they actually had service and sales people come out and study the job he did. Top notch work, he tinted my rear passenger windows to the very edge; it looks like I have privacy glass right now. I cannot recommend him and his work enough.

(If you stop by, tell him Hi from Charles, the tall white guy with the white fit sport )
