Se7enlawliet is an unknown quantity at this point
Well got my first car....

I was gunning for a used Scion and BAM! I ended up with a brand new base '09 Fit.

And wow.... I'm friggen impressed.

It looks slick, and handles amazingly. I've driven about 6 cars in my life (86' Camry and '08 Camry being two among the bunch) and the Fit's handling just amazes me. I'm a reasonably safe driver and such but I randomly catch myself speeding and making sharp turns just 'cause.

The amount of space I got in the car is just as amazing as the handling. I've already had a picknick with my girlfriend out of the back, slept for about two or three hours and drove all a bunch of large (like 6'+ 200lb+ people) around as well. Oh and more cup holders than you know what to do with.... it's awesome.

The only two major cons I can think of is:
A) Refresh mode seems unusable now. it really sucks because it would have still worked if the front seat moves forward just half an inch more.....

and

B) The car is so damn low that the little black part below the bumper grinds when I go down my driveway..... unless that's just me sucking at driving....

Oh and the ride does get pretty shackey after 80mph+ but that's to be expected.
Yeah, just a quick little two cent
Iput on my driveway problem would be mighty helpful.

Always approach abrupt curbs and speed bumps at an angle, not straight on ... and go slow. That usually helps avoid most scrapes.

The 09s have a rubber chin spoiler under the front splitter that flexes when scraping driveways. It enhances aerodynamics and avoids getting marred when scraped. Good idea.

Nice touch - it has a glossy film on top of the rubber which makes it match the rest of the bumper.

Welcome to fitfreaks! For a first car choice you did quite well. It looks nice in black and the 2nd Gen fits are growing on me daily. You'll get used to protecting your front air dam. Aerodynamics is part of getting good mileage and I think it looks nice as well. Parking blocks and curbs can be an issue of course. Keep us posted and revel in a fine choice!

The Captain will become famous soon enough
Check the air pressure in your tires as it should not really shake at 80 mph. Sometimes the dealership forgets to drop the pressure down to the proper level as they are inflated pretty high when transported.
